This man was working at the site of a new habitat for red pandas. The entire building was covered with white plastic sheeting. I was told that this chain saw work was part of the process of creating a rock-like appearance for the outside of the building.
It's going to be fun to see what it looks like in the end!

The Chained Library is a unique collection of ancient books including the 8th-century Hereford Gospels, one of 229 medieval manuscripts. This 17th-century chained library is the largest example to survive with all its chains, rods and locks intact (the chains were simply to stop people stealing the books!).
The chain was used to keep a physically deformed and mentally challenged man locked away. He enjoyed howling at the full moon and influenced many of the legends surrounding Monte Cristo.

Just to show how simple engineering was back then - this is the rear axle and drivetrain of the 1929 'Nash - driven by nothing more than a series of bike chains. This is why they are so easy to powerslide and drift.
This is such a clichéd shot, but it is fun playing with depth of field, especially on a small-sensor point & shoot camera.
Chains; because lately I feel like I'm tied to the past with unbreakable chains. I can't completely get away from it, I can't move on to the future.
Knots; because everything feels twisted up and unsolvable.
