food-chain is a research project by Oliver Watson and Henry Ireland, dealing with food from sociological, cultural, political and environmental perspectives.
Image captured by Gary Roseborough (one of my favorite photographers), I like the image so much I asked him if I could process it . This is what came out .
I saw this chain hanging on a bike rack between UC and Lawson Hall and initially thought it was there to secure the rack to the ground. Turns out there is a padlock (attached below the frame) leading me to believe someone uses this beast to lock up their bike - very Pee Wee's Big Adventure!
Western has bike racks awaiting cyclist all over campus. Come on, be the "chainge" (nyuk nyuk) and do something good for your body and our air quality.
Snow has slowed down Metro buses, but chained-up and well-prepared, those on snow routes are managing to get through.

The Chain at The Kent Roller Girls event at Folkestone Quarterhouse on the 1st June 2012.

June 10th, 2011: Angels Landing is one of those gotta-do's in Zion. So we did... and this is a photo essay of the hike.
Cello shaped, and chain driven. There's something sensual about the woodgrain too. Portal23 produced this beautiful artwork piece and photographed it with a holga, lifted the emulsion onto a big chunk of glass, and gave it to me in a Tommy Hilfiger box with the simple instruction 'see what you can do with it.' So I did. I particularly love the grain of this image.
Chains made for an easy climb up to the trailhead in the trucks. This time of year, chains make all the difference for easy access!

Dangle earrings of two links of a worn bicycle chain from a rusty old 10-speed bike. The earrings drop about 1.9 inches and weigh 0.2 oz each.
The shell analysis software shows that this type of gusset stiffens the chain stays, subjected to chain traction, of 80%
This was one of those "just playing around" shots that with no intention of doing anything with. Since it was too hot to go out and shoot I was going through old shots and found it again. I like the contrasting textures of the old iron pole and the shiny brass of the chain.
