During lockdown I turned to my ancestors to keep me company and started looking for them. I'm still at it. I've begun an ongoing project to collect the names of the mothers (I'll do the fathers, as well) and write their first name and the year of their birth on individual paper chain lengths. My chain currently has about 150 names with dates ranging from 1995 back to the 11th century. It's very empowering. Right now they're looped around on my back door, but I'll soon need a wider space to be able to see all of the names. I've barely scratched the surface.

Feelng rather.... hemmed in, today. It's a beautiful day, and there's no earthly reason not to go out and enjoy it. Well, that's the party line, anyway. Having already been out in the car to pick up fence paint (yes, that's my job for today), I've quickly realised that I don't feel up to mixing with the general public. Damn anxiety, damn perpetual tiredness, and damn all that other stuff that's not very interesting for me to record here. So, here I am, back home - a fence to paint, and typically, a load of leering workmen up on the roof of a neighbouring house. I'm going to glue the headphones of my mp3 player to my head and pretend that I have invisible powers.
