This is the picture that started it all, the very first, and thank goodness it was in focus.

Jessica had to have a c-section and I was invited to the OR to be supportive. I had to put on a haz-mat suit, at least I called it that, the nurse later told me that they call it a bunny suit. It was a paper jumpsuit with a plastic zipper, a surgery hat that looked like a doo-rag, and slippers...and when I say slippers, I mean, you had to watch how you walked or you'd slipper down the hall.

I waited in the hallway for what seemed like an eternity while 100 people dressed in scrubs walked past saying, don't worry it'll be okay, she'll be fine, and they're almost ready for you. two guys walked past, one asked, "Is this your first?" The second says, come on man, look at his face, you know its his first!"

They came to get me for a really slick, nervous walk down the hall and put me in this room that was covered with nurses and doctors, course they all could have been janitors dressed in scrubs for all I know, I was there in body, but in mind, I coudl have been on the moon.

They say me down for about 20 seconds while someone kept asking Jessica, do you feel that, do you feel that, as she answered in, ooooooh, owwww, and yessss! Before I knew it I was being escorted down the hallway because they were having to put her under, and a few seconds later I ran into 2 hospital staff that knew us from church; it was really good seeing a familiar face, even though she was sure I had no idea who she was. One of them got to go by the OR and come back down the hall to tell me that they had him out, he was crying, and everything was good.

A few minutes later, they wheeled him down the hall and opened the incubator (or whatever they call those things), where I was told to take as many pictures as I wanted. It was kinda a weird scary detached feeling that I felt...maybe I'm embarassed to admit that my first thought was, "huh, he's cuter than I thought he'd be."

Then there was a long walk back to the labor and delivory wing, or as my father in law called, the "department of labor." My mom greeted us first down the hall where I snapped a few more pictures and fought back another wave or really weird feelings of sickness and being outside of reality. They took him away and put him in the nursery window for quite some time. The rest of the time was spent waiting to make sure that jessica was okay and feeling bad that she missed all of this since she had to be put to sleep for the c-section.

In the end it all turned out all right. Jessica was okay, we had a cute healthy kid, our families were around, and best of all, he was calm and quiet. We've got to figure out which side of the family that came from, but until then, we'll just be thankful for it.

Thanks for looking, hope you enjoy.

I loved this part of the tour. The 82 was beautiful. I left the tour guide blurred on purpose because she was so animated (and extremely knowledgable)!

3 things appeal to me when looking for a model: beards, hat, and sunglasses. Go take a look of some of the previous pictures, it's true.

And this stays true today when Jessa is wearing her turquoise Wayfarer. With her eye-catching sunglasses, two ponytails, and a retro look, I deliberately tone the picture to give a vintage mood.

Thanks Jessa.

While visiting Naples Florida earlier in the year, I had made it my goal to meet a few strangers while I was there. I found I enjoyed relaxing too much and left little time to focus on the strangers all around me. My brother, father, and I decided to travel out to the "Downtown Naples Festival of the Arts" as it was a beautiful day in Florida. The festival gave a good vibe as while Naples is very much a town for the snowbirds, the paths were mostly clear without excessive crowds. I found myself talking mostly to photographers (like minded I suppose) but upon requesting a picture for the (608)strangers, many declined. I'm not sure exactly why that was, but once I came around the corner and was slightly frightened by a metal baboon: I knew that the creator would have to be up for a photo.

Meet Kyle Pearce, the self-proclaimed "devil with a hammer, hell with a torch." His awesome art made from automobile hoods and bumpers, welded together to make masterpieces was likely the winner of the show in my mind. A true artist, most of his works keep the original paint and trim from the vehicles he removes it! When I explained the 100 strangers project he easily agreed, though we only had time to snap a couple pictures (as he was a very popular stand). You can see more of his really awesome works via his Instagram page @kylepearcesculpture and heck, if your interested maybe he can custom a piece just for you. The baboon was a bit out of my range, as well as I'm not sure how well received it would be upon my flight back to Madison. All together, a great stranger encounter and a fun one at that.

A fight almost broke out between a fruit vendor and a man enjoying his meal on the street. The vendor claimed that the man stole oranges from him and they almost came to blows. There were a lot of swearing and two minutes later, the police arrived. This man was explaining to Lincoln and the rest of the Hong Kong Walk crew that he had a bit of alcohol but the fruit vendor provoked him etc.

He thought we were the reporters with so many cameras. Note that the real police was the one next to him but he has chosen to use the 'press' to his advantage.

On the drive from Denver International Airport I saw many unique cloud formations in the sky, it was only due time time that the rains would come. Little did I nor my companions know what a whirlwind of strange weather we could encounter along the way.
