Timm and I took a motorcycle trip to Death Valley. An Amazing adventure / experience. The mid-day sun was very cooperative, but it almost looks as if he was superimposed in.

Leaving the chaotic life to spend some quiet in the woods. It is so silent with the snow falling fast all around me. It is so cold but so beautiful.
Getting in close on butterflies, one thing that strikes me is how very hairy they are. This small tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae) sports a pretty furry coat, really.
Welcome to my LIFE

I went downtown today to add some variety to the project, but was overwhelmed and intimated. There was so many people, too many choices. I had a tough time tracking down a model. Secondly, remember just a couple of days ago I said that I am getting better in asking people for pictures? Turns out I was wrong. I used to wander around bus stops or train stations, where people stand around and wait, which would be relatively easier for me to approach them. But when I was at downtown today, people were constantly moving. The challenge is how to stop a person without being rude. It's a totally different game.
Although it's though, the reward is also exceptionally great. Why? Let's let today's picture do the talking.
Thanks Elyse.

This is a modified Canon 5D Mark II with a custom cooling system. The company that makes the cooler is located in Korea.
I was really tired and happy to lie on my belly in the wet grass and search for water droplets.
I like the refraction in these and the way the drops throw off little rays of light.
Flying home today. Will try to catch up from the airport.
Have a great weekend!

13 Feb 2009 8:13pm Star Ferry
I was standing at the exit of the Star Ferry with my trusted Canon 5d Mark II and EF135mm f2L. As each ferry comes and goes, I captured the people going on and off board. I was standing in the same spot for around 10 minutes when I turned around.
There he was. He was standing about 10 feet from me and was aiming his weapon straight at me. He was so shocked that he was caught and instantly turned away and made his escape.
So I shot back. Mercilessly.
Yes, I will be going in an hour's time! First time to go to the Hong Kong Disneyland.
Have a nice Friday everyone!
Christopher Daly
While out wrapping up my photo walk, as I'd been out for countless hours (or so it felt); I came across a man strumming a guitar on State. While busking is legally accepted, and more often then not people donate coins the cases of a variety of instruments; not many actually stop to read/listen to the artist. I took a seat and listened for a little longer. Once it appeared the tune was over, I introduced myself to the musician I learned to be Christopher Daly. A recent mayor candidate, campaigning at what some may consider the heart of the city; State Street. Alive with a warm summer breeze, plenty of families and new students alike took the time to stop and donate into his case. I asked if I would be allowed to snap a photo of him for my 608 strangers project, as he is not only a new face to me but maybe a new face for many Madisonions. He agreed, and we took about a half dozen photos before I found myself satisfied with the photo that best told the scene on State this August eve.
We parted no longer strangers, but as one less unknown face in the crowd on the isthmus. I really have grown to enjoy getting to know so many new and unique people since joining the 100 strangers project. It really helps jump outside my normal comfort zone, and I suggest you too check it out and give it a go! The best part of the challenge in finding 100 strangers is the no deadline, while I don't feel compelled to end my ever ongoing 365 project, it's nice to have the freedom to post when inspiration strikes.
