Equipments: Canon 5D Mark II. Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM.

Yesterday I took arguably one of my best for the whole series so far; and as much as I wanted to top yesterday's picture, great pictures just don't come as often as everyone wants it to be.

So far, I never pose my models. There are so much going on with shooting a simple street portraits, the lighting and the surrounding, greetings and scouting the models, taking the shots in a very short period of time, gathering contact informations, my hands are simply all tied up. However, today, if I took the time and ask Tianya to left her chin just a little bit, this portrait will come out way better.

Since now I got better in asking people for a picture, I should start practicing posing my models.

Thanks Tianya.

I did it. I pulled the trigger and bought it. I hmm'd and hawed and considered the 6d... but the AF and the 2 memory card slots (as well as a few other things) ultimately swayed me over to the 5d, and despite the cost I do not have an ounce of buyers remorse.

I'll be naming her "Betty", after my mother who passed away in February. My mother always encouraged my creative endeavors, she was my cheerleader.

anyhow, I was so excited to take a couple test shots I didn't even notice these were shot at ISO 1000 ----> NO NOISE! ...unlike my 7D. I never fell in love with my 7D. Noise was always an issue... but Betty, on the other hand, I do believe this is the beginning of a be-YOO-tiful friendship!

Admittedly I don't have enough females in my (608)strangers project, sometimes I make up excuses but honestly it's that I believe females will believe I'm some sort of strange for requesting a photo. Meemee gave off the kind of energy that she would be willing to participate, so I decided to sit down next to her at the bus stop. As we chatted I found out she was quite the interesting person, just as most of my strangers are (and thus why I am drawn to them). She was free spirited and expressed to me how she was spoken too, and that the flower called to her to buy it at my place of work. Strangely, I did have to do a sku check for such the flower earlier in the day but never knew whom it was for. "420 is not for me," she exclaimed, along with a few other random tidbits about her. She believed in the higher power working in her everyday, inside and outside of what goes on. As we chatted MeeMee (born Tamika) stood up, as a bus pulled up to the stop: She thanked me for my time and jumped on the bus. Waving at me from the window before I could learn more, it was an end to my day of pictures and with that a new face for the 100 strangers project.

first pseudo-studio shoot. He did great this time.

He did pee on me twice...but I guess he owed me that for hanging him several feet, just kidding (mom!) inches off of soft pillowy table/ground.

I've got to thank my father in law for holding up his brand new grandson in the air.

One of the many chipmunks who reside in (and under) the retaining wall in our front yard. We call this one (and pretty much all the others, too) Chippie.

I came to Paris at 6AM and went directly to Montmartre to have a cup of coffee on a top of the hill, to enjoy sunrise..
