I can't remember the name of the place I had lunch at today--something like EZ's burgers or something. Anyway, pretty cool little burger/pizza joint. I had a calzone; cheese, pepperoni, sausage, marinara, and NO MUSHROOMS! :)
I couldn't eat the whole thing, it was huge! Good though.

The calzone. It hardly matters what was in it; they'd all look the same. But they're a really good size for the price. At The Yellow House, Lower Road.
My first attempt at calzones. Next time I won't have the oven on the convection setting; these got a bit more golden-brown than I like.
Ingredientes:
1 Pizza de mozzarella La Crianza
1 Taza de rúcula fresca
5 Hojas de albahaca
1 Cdta. de ajo en polvo
1 Cda. de aceite de oliva
Preparación:
Calentar el horno a 200°C.
Cuando esté bien caliente, colocar la pizza dentro por 7 a 10 minutos hasta derretir el queso.
Retirar del horno, cubrir la pizza con rúcula fresca algunas hojas de albahaca, polvo de ajo y un chorrito de aceite.
Cerrar a la mitad formando un calzone. Servir de inmediato.
4.1.13 Hit the shops this afternoon, which were crazy busy. We realised we'd not eaten and at 4pm fell into the nearest place and ordered these enormous calzone. Certainly filled the spot!

On Monday, Carl and I ate lunch in Lake Jackson at All-Star Pizza. We had the delicious buffet of pizza, calzones, and cookies. Afterwards we drove to Brazos Bend State Park where we saw some wildlife exhibits and saw some wildlife: butterflies, a deer, a snake, baby alligators, some birds, and a baby coyote?
Then we drove to the museum district of Houston. At the Houston Museum of Natural Science, we toured two exhibits: Terra Cotta Warriors and the Spirits & Headhunters: Vanishing Worlds of the Amazon. We also saw the skeletons of some dinosaurs and exhibits of animals from Africa.
We had planned to go to the Houston Zoo since it was open free to the public on Columbus Day, but they wouldn't let us inside since it was less than an hour before closing time. Instead we found Hermann Park with a pond, some ducks, some coy, a turtle, and some statues. It was a nice find at the end of the day.
We drove back to Lake Jackson and ate a most delicious steak at Salt Grass Steak House before returning to Carl's house for me to pack up and leave early the next morning.
