It was an evening of styling, cocktails, whooppie cakes and tanning.

Sebastian Professional Hair Products in association with Nylon Magazine introduced it amazing line of styling products to a hip new audience through the expertise of Studio DNA's amazing stylists.

The evening featured the vision of Aubrey Loots, owner and Artisitic Director of Studio DNA. Before the crowd, Aubrey transformed four models from head to toe.

The bronzing foundation was provided by St. Tropez Self Tanning. The gorgeous make up was at the hands of Cristina Romeo, founder of Polaris Cosmetics. The clothing designs by Naida Begeta of Kao Pao Shu. The reveal was an absolute WOW!

Cocktails were provided by Solerno Liqueur. Catering was South African inspired and served up by the amazing team to Enjoy Catering. Our dear friend, Molly Taylor, pulled up her Sweets Truck (www.thesweetstruck.com) introducing whoopie cakes to our ravenous guests.

There were prizes, gift bags, musical stylings by DJ Epic Twelve and eye candy everywhere you turned.

It was an evening we will not soon forget!

Calgary Flames Hockey Team Logo - Birthday Cake

I was very, very excited to be asked by Cake Central Magazine if I could design and make a cake for their upcoming issue that related to either a garden, birdhouse or both. I was given a four day deadline (which is absolutely ridiculous for a cake this big) and there was no guarantee it would be included. So with much stress and little sleep, this is what I came up with. I'm happy to say it made it in the magazine! I wish I was given more time as I would have done something a little more 'showstopping'.

I've only been doing this for a year so it was a bit of a shock to be asked, haha.

I had problems with my fondant and the edges cracking! Quite a few drama's along the way but still happy with how it turned out. Just hoping it is still okay for the cutting of it tonight!

Wow! My first HUGE cake! LOL...definitely learned some lessons here. ok, so cake is on a plywood cake board that is 3ft x 2ft. White Almond Sour Cream (WASC), with vanilla butter cream frosting and fondant details. Bday boy turned 40 and they were having poker night as the theme. All things equal 40 - the cards, each set of colored poker chips as well. Glad this one is done and I can relax this weekend. LOL They loved it when we delivered it after work tonight. :) I always love to see people's faces when they see their cake. Makes all the long hours worth while.

Veronica, do you remember this cake I made 5 years ago? (lol...it definitely looked better than it tasted) Do you believe there's a group called "Like a Burger". I'm going to post this.

Princess Cakes were created by a baker in Sweden for one of the three princess's birthdays. Traditionally, it is a genoise cake with three layers, containing jam, pastry cream & whipped cream. The dome is actually a dome of whipped cream, then covered with marzipan, yum!
