The 8060 passes where the Station Canopy once stood. Built in 1911, Passenger Trains for the Atlantic Coast Line and later Seaboard Coast Line called on the depot for 60 years until the start of Amtrak in 1971. While they did continue to serve Waycross by way of the Floridian until 1979, the stop was relocated to a a tiny canopy 1.7 miles to the south alongside Rice Yard on Oklahoma Avenue.
