CSX trackage in the former Mead (now Glatfelter) paper mill in Chillicothe, Ohio. The second track from left is the former Toledo Division/Wellston Subdivision main, from Dayton to Wellston, Ohio. It was severed as a through route in the early 1970s. CSX local H776 still serves this plant daily M-F. The plant also has its own switching engines. Sorry about the bridge rail in the shot - the only safe way to get this shot is from inside a vehicle!

CSX C40-8 7554 with 7674 a C40-8W head a manifest into Taft Yard just south of Orlando Florida. This location is now doubled tracked with a regular passenger service operating over it.
After waiting for Norfolk Southern Train 151 to clear the interlocking at Cordele, Georgia, CSX Train I198 gets the clear to cross on his way to East Savannah from Atlanta on Sunday October 16th 2022. While I198 is profiled as a Northbound Train, 198 is required to run southbound from Atlanta to Waycross. At Waycross it will turn compass north onto the Jesup Subdivision towards Savannah. This CSX Transportation train, hauling newsprint for the St. Petersburg newspaper, is slowly passing the site of the now demolished Pinellas Park ACL depot in 2008. This train is led by GP38-2S engine 6120. Nearby, you can see a corner of the new depot-inspired home of the Pinellas Park Historical Society, with its red caboose exhibit. Courtesy Mike Woodruff

During my Spring Break Vacation to Folkston, Georgia, we catch CSX Train I03727 passing through on its way to the Florida East Coast Railway's Bowden Yard in Jacksonville, Florida from Pinoca Yard in Charlotte, North Carolina. In the lead of this evening Train is GE C40-8W #7868, one of only a handful of Dash 8s still on CSX"s Active Roster and sporting their original 1990s Yellow Nose 2 Scheme. At the time i shot this the engine had just recently come out of storage due to a downturn in traffic thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.
CSX 5011 heads up the grade from Dade City toward Clinton Heights where it will then drop down to Vitis Jct.
CSX train M693 holds the main in the clear as M652 nears the South End of Green Mountain on a Medium Approach Medium (I think that's the technical aspect name.... bottom green was flashing). Contemporary signaling and circuitry certainly doesn't have the charm of the Clinchfield US&S days, but does come with its advantages for modern day crews and dispatchers. M652 has already met M853 at Kona, and will have a B651 to meet at what will likely be Johnson City on a busier than usual evening that resulted from the day's MoW curfew.

Constructed in 2020 after being in the planning stages since the 1980s, the Cordele Train Watchers Viewing Platform is made up of a covered observation viewing area, public restrooms which are open from Sunrise to Sunset, charging outlets, a Water Bottle refill Station, a 24 Car Parking Lot, a little walkway running adjacent to the CSX Track, Historical Markers detailing the History of Cordele and the Railroads that have served it along with plenty of sitting areas around the park. Virtual Railfan even has a few webcams set up here, allowing people from across the Globe to view the heavy action this Town sees on a daily basis. Video of this catch and more: youtu.be/I6hGtujKGr8

CSX 473 trails on a double stack train at Moreland Park in the northern burbs of Wildwood.
The sun is just setting and a break in the tree line gives a nice splash of light and colour.
The lower signal has already changed to a single amber but the engineer has elected to sit still for a while, perhaps waiting for the next section to totally clear?
