A CSX West Olive coal train turns the corner toward Grand Rapids in Plymouth, Michigan with a much improved yellow nose scheme. I hated the all grey and blue/grey schemes, this was an improvement but far from what could have been considering all the classy schemes that disappeared into Family Lines and CSX. April 1990
A CSX C40 leads an autorack train south through the National Cemetery in Nashville on November 1, 2013. It was most worthwhile spending a couple of hours in the cemetery before flying home that morning. I spent the time between trains walking through the crosses, reading the names, thinking not only of their sacrifice but what all veterans have sacrificed. At the time I had a close perspective on the sacrifices as my son had recently been discharged from the Marines. It's a shame that we don't all get to see firsthand what these men and women give up and go through to serve their country..
This is a reprocessing of a similar shot posted years ago using more modern tools and possibly higher user skills.
CSX Transportation's two locomotives painted to honor America's 250th birthday lead manifest train M332 through Cuyahoga Falls, OH at sunset. The block of double-stack cars behind the power on a mixed freight train was a little odd.
CSX 3416 on an Eastbound kicks up the snow on track 2 while 3308 works on the siding at the East end of Goodman Street Yard in Rochester, NY on March 2, 2018.
CSX 7486 still in nice Conrail Blue leads CSX train Q-135 at SINNS in Port Vue, PA on March 30, 2002. I have scanned a ton of slides the last few weeks from 1997 to early 2000's and figure I may as well start posting a couple pics each day.
One of the first units to wear the new at the time Boxcar YN3B Paint Scheme sits on the EEC/CSX Interchange tracks fresh from the GE paint booth on a clear winters night.
June 11, 2016: CSX Autorack Train Q211 (Louisville, Ky-Cayce, SC) powers Southbound on the old CSX Western & Atlantic Subdivision at Kingston, GA with an SD70MAC EMD engine leading an AC4400CW GE.
CSX 6090 and 5851 with train Q381 on the ex P&LE as viewed from the Iron Bridge in Beaver Falls, PA on May 3, 1993. The old bridge was closed to traffic and was a nice quiet vantage point from which to catch trains. This was the view looking the other way: www.flickr.com/photos/85501582@N03/13465917875/in/album-7...
A pair of rebuilt AC44's depart Atlanta with train M527 for Montgomery. A new brewery recently opened just out of frame in the old Southern Railway headquarters and has been a welcomed spot to enjoy a few brews and watch the action.
CSX U979-13 hits double track at Lynn as it heads south to Corbin. Unfortunately, the train would only get 9 more miles down the tracks before they struck an individual in downtown Falmouth, halting the train for an extended period of time. My thoughts go out to the Crew, First Responders and the family of the individual..

CSX loco 3194, the "y Honoring Our Law Enforcement", leads Q261 through Guilderland, NY enroute to Selkirk Yard.
While attending a weekend baseball tourney just down the street, we were able to keep an eye on the Selkirk Branch, as well.
Big thanks to Mr MG for tipping us off to this leader that day!

The CSX "Spirit of Louisville" CW40-8 leads a CSX AC4400CW, as they pull Autorack Train CSX Q210-26 Northbound on the old CSX Western & Atlantic Subdivision, seen here at Cartersville, GA. This was my first time ever catching this CSX spirit engine.
