CSX 2027 and 6785 lead Conrail train JIN at CP WOOD in Homewood, PA on April 3, 1993. You would expect to see these units running on the ex P&LE along the Beaver River down below, not battling the grade out of the valley on Conrail's Fort Wayne Line.
CSX # 3100 leads an empty coal train bound for McClure out of the tunnel at Haysi, Virginia on the former Clinchfield.
Northern Ohio fans had a choice of standard cab chases on Saturday 2/22/25. There was a pair of Rio Grande tunnel motors on the Wheeling train to Lima. And the usual pair of Tiger SD40's on the Wheeling turn to Willard. For something different I chose the W019 rail train on CSX with 2 GP38's after seeing a Facebook post when it left Cumberland. After many drab cloudy days, it was fun to let some horsepowers loose with a nice 125 mile chase. Managed 7 spots with one of them being lost to clouds and never waited more than 5 minutes. They were moving along quite nicely. This spot shows downtown Akron where the empty field to the left was the EL yard many years ago.
In either late 2003 or early 2004, A CSX SD70Mac leads what I believe was CSX Q615 through Chester, South Carolina after meeting another train that is in the siding in the background. Judging where that train is parked, it may have been a three train meet. There might be a train in the siding in front of it.
CSXT SD70MAC 777 was built in 1988 as Conrail CR 4208. Shortly after, it was transferred to CSX who numbered it CSXT 777. They later numbered it CSXT 4577. It's current disposition is unknown, but I suspect she is still earning her keep on the rails.

Step back in time, and the big GE's were certainly prominent on CSX, but, you could still end up with.....this. CSX 8205 (ex L&N) leads a westbound train along the Trenton Sub., through Northeast Philadelphia.
Made for a great sound as CP train 687 with a CSX SD40-2 and SD40-3 leading Ethanol empties uphill with the 8813 giving its all.

Thanks to fellow rodents for the info.

The flyover to the left of the train is used by Tri-Rail and Amtrak. As can be seen here, freight trains use track 3 which extends from CP Whalen to CP South Dania.
