A Snowy Egret in full display coming in for a landing in an area where another Snowy in the background is hunting. As it turns out all that drama was unnecessary as the other bird hardly noticed, and they ended up getting along just fine.
There were many people here. We caused quite the traffic jam. Many people asked what was happening. The answer we gave was, "train's coming". The cows were pretty cool too.
Train: CN L518 with BLE 867 (SD38AC), BLE 878 (SD38-2), and BLE 905 (SD45T-2).

WSOR's 351-21 job comes back from Spring Grove, IL on their Fox Lake Subdivision and enters Wisconsin, just south of Hebron, IL. An old Espee SD40 variant in Helm Dark Blue leads a handful of cars heading back for Janesville, WI.
I was literally on the way home from my T4 chase when this train was randomly rolling eastbound over Hwy. 12 in Richmond, IL just a few hours before, and was a nice way to end the day. Quite the chance encounter on a line that sees the bulk of its' activity under the cover of darkness.
Two Svitzer tugs, one in front and one behind escort this container vessel into port at Felixstowe. The Svitzer tugs are built in Vietnam and Port of Felixstowe have used them for some time. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAe4nxJIFFM&feature=emb_rel_p...

With a setting sun, a parked tank train waits to head east after a westbound freight and a few commuter trains go through Winfield, Illinois. I wanted to catch the sun directly over the water tower and I did, but I liked the gentler lighting in this shot. I intended to stay at this location just long enough to catch the sunset but it was such a beautiful evening and there was so much train traffic I stayed an hour longer photographing one train after another. It was a perfect time to try out different settings on my camera as the light changed quickly. Have a great weekend everyone :-)

Returning from a two week vacation on Vancouver Island, I was still about 45 minutes away from Kamloops but the terrain had started to feel like home. So I pulled the car over to take this shot. It may not be the traditionally "beautiful" sights of Vancouver Island but it's home. And it's beautiful to me.
