Nearly finished my DIY ringlight.
Just gotta make a decent mount, glue some aluminium foil around the inside and fit some sort of diffusing material.
The basic structure is two shiny metal bowls, one inside the other, with a cardboard tube separating them. Flash points through the slot you see above, with velcro tabs on the flaps helping secure it.
In an unusual (for me) lucky strike, the hood for my Sigma 17-70 wedges inside the tube perfectly, allowing me to push it in from the front, insert my camera from the rear, twist and click to mount. All I need is a way to support the flash - does anyone have a pair of Poverty Wizard carcasses they can send me? I don't need the electronics, just the bodies.

The little shark got quite used to being fed. Never quite as confident as some of the larger sharks, she would often make a couple of dry runs before taking one of the baits.
The male has FOUR of these wenches following him everywhere. There were times he hopped to one corner of the enclosure to be alone only to find that the females had jumped right along.
