I've always loved the coming of the crocus. Other people are thrilled by the sight of the year's first robin, or the final melting of the snow, but I've always looked forward to seeing the little dashes of purple and yellow in our yard. My dad planted crocus bulbs in our front yard, and although my mom thought that he was silly in doing so, we now anticipate spotting the year's first flower.

The grandmother of the guy on the left used to own our house. It was a lucky break that I was going out to my car when he and his family stopped to take a look. We had a nice visit and they got to look around inside grandma's house.
This evening picture of yachts moored at Oban shows gathering clouds, coming in from the west ahead of an Atlantic storm, that have almost hidden the setting sun. And although the scene is quite tranquil, there is the looming threat over the horizon of bad weather to come – which it did later, with rain falling in torrents. (Yes, I did get very wet!) But before that happened the blue clouds made an unusual contrast with the grey of the water. Usually we get grey skies and grey water!
