Making its first visit to Berkeley on flask duty, 68008 Avenger is seen running round at Sharpness with 68002 Intrepid. 2018-12-06
The second run at the obstacle course proved to be more difficult than the morning runs. Points were obtained by doing an obstacle, but deducted for leaving the course or reversing. Attempting more than 4 times or asking for a tow by the tractor resulted in a DNF.

No photoshop here, this tiger jumped over this log right towards the camera, thank goodness I had a zoom lens, and an Island barrier between us.
We managed to find enough space to build a new Barbie House, it will be 2 rooms wide X 3 stories high. About 54" wide 18" deep & 72" high. The plan is to use foam sheets for the entire construction, should make a very light but strong house.

The waters of the river are allocated to India under the Indus Waters Treaty between India and Pakistan. At present, most of its water is diverted to irrigation canals and used up in India. [1] The Bhakra-Nangal Dam is a huge multipurpose dam on the river.
There is substantial evidence to indicate that prior to 1700 B.C. the Sutlej was once an important tributary of the Sarasvati River, instead of the Indus River. It is believed that tectonic activity created elevation changes that redirected the Sutlej from southeast to southwest. Once flowing in its new westward direction, the river eventually joined the Beas river. As a result, the mighty Sarasvati River began to dry up, causing the desertification of Cholistan and the eastern part of the modern state of Sindh, as well as the abandonment of numerous ancient human settlements along its banks.

Coming home yesterday I was pulled out of the tram by the sound of the mehter and the possibility of shooting. The weather was gray and miserable, there were banners from the municipality as a backdrop, and millions of people racing around taking photos and shaking the seating stand.
However, just listening to the music was reward enough - and now that there are regular Saturday afternoon 'performances' I will try again!
The guy on the left is the main drummer and I love watching him twirl his tasseled drumsticks. The guy on the right is the conductor and it is obvious from his face that he, too, loves this music!
This is our week for finding Ground Hogs. This one is coming out of one of it's tunnels at Lockport Prairie.

The Fleishhacker pool and pool house were built in 1924 by philanthropist Herbert Fleishhacker. The pool was the largest swimming pool in the United States. The pool held 6 million gallons of water and could accomodate 10,000 swimmers. The pool was closed in 1971 with the pool itself being paved over by the San Francisco Zoo for a new parking lot. The pool house which was used by bathers at the pool remains on its original site today in ruins.
