Working on making some new merch. This year I'd like to do some tee shirts, buttons, pencil cases and a few other things...

These buttons will be available as a set soonish.

Part of my final project for my first BFA photography course at Arizona State University. My project, called Coming & Going, includes three elements. First, using the photographic version of a pentimento (in this case, double exposures). Second, paying homage to one of Thomas Struth's first exhibits, which featured photos of streets in New York City and his hometown of Dusseldorf (in my case, New York City and Des Moines). Finally, based on a project proposed by Alec Soth, combine a photograph with some basic descriptive text, and then consider whether it's better with or without the words.

La habana 2015

Another shot from Sunday -- I'm ambivalent about the action in this shot, but I really like the light coming through the wave, and the spray.

1. the angle is neat with being above the cars. composition is simple with the lights of cars forming lines, use of lines, balance, and color. this is interesting because of the slow shutter forming straight lines with the car lights. the technique used here was a slow shutter.

2. aperture: f/22 shutter speed: 20 sec. ISO: 400

3. there's a balance of what comes into life and what leaves.

these aweful bugs are coming out of our basement now that spring is here and the weather is a little more damp. i've read up on them, they aren't harmful to people and they are not actually a sign that we have a dirty house! they are carnivorous - they actually keep the other bug populations in check.

this has to be seen large to really appreciate its nasty face!

ian, i was thinking of you on this one - hope you like it.

Was delayed on the Hoods Canal Bridge while it opened to allow the sub through on her way home (Bangor Sub Base). I don't consider it an inconvenience but an honor to witness these true heroes of our country. Can you imagine living in a 450' sardine can with 125+ listed and 15 officers for months at a time?. Now that takes a special breed of men.
