Catching op with your streams soon.....

I can always tell when winter's coming - the guys lay down the "snow fence" in the field across the street -- it's supposed to control drifting snow...I go running to the closet for an extra blanket!

"Coming Soon" the billboard says.... under construction is what I presume to be a block of apartment flats which will be part of the new "Marshall's Rise" complex at the top of Sping Gardens. They have already poured the concrete for the ground floors, and like all modern buildings at this stage, it looks pretty grim, like a military bunker. However, the artists impression is of a building in a "Victorian Industrial" style, which is actually appropriate for the area - especially when you recall the building which stood on the site until approximately 2000 - the old Marshall's Tea Machine Shop.

This very nice tandem appeared to have original paint and lining, but I saw no name on it.

It's my biggest MOC, First time exhibiting at a convention, my first use of United Bricks torsos and it has the most vehicles I've ever created in one moc... Coming soon

Taken with ambient light (no flash) through my car windshield at 11:00 PM moments before a CSX manifest freight passed by eastbound. This is 20th Street at the Buckbee control point (CN milepost 83.55 west) on the CN Freeport Subdivision in southeast Rockford IL.

I love this part of the road coming into the village of Plumbridge, Co. Tyrone where you get a great view of the main chain of the Sperrin Mountains, particularly the rugged and rocky summit of Mullaghcarbatagh (centre).

Test shoot using my newly acquired Light Blaster (light-blaster.com) which allows you to project your own backdrop images. Since I also have a big photoshoot coming up for a local hair salon I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and get some salon test shots as well.

The Light Blaster performed well overall but it definitely has strengths and weaknesses. I just used an old 18-55mm Canon kit lens, I found I needed to use a lot of power. If I used a faster lens (ie wider aperture) it should require a bit less light. A big issue is that you really need to limit spill from your key light or else it will completely wash out the projected background. I was shooting in a small space so this didn't help that fact, if I had more room the key light would have fallen off quicker too.
