No photoshop here, this tiger jumped over this log right towards the camera, thank goodness I had a zoom lens, and an Island barrier between us.

God and I play together every morning:

I put out peanuts

and he comes to get them,

cleverly disguised as a magpie.

I keep having to buy more bags of

peanuts in the shell, for

who can resist God,

coming for peanuts?

I took the original photo of this magpie coming for peanuts on my balcony and hand-painted it in Corel Painter X using a Wacom Tablet and stylus. Final processing was done on my iPad using PhotoToaster.

As I am a Sony Alpha user, I would like to express my feeling for A7 Series camera that I like:

- Size and weight very light and easier to grab for my hand and more handy

- Silent shutter, BSI sensor 5 axis in-body stabilization and the possibility to use also with E-mount, A-mount and all brands.

- Visualize directly in viewfinder how the image will end up. I don’t have to verify it all the time, I am more confident in your settings, I save a lot of time, As I can see what your picture will exactly.

- Focus Peaking highlights the edges of the subject which is in focus, it's really useful for me.

- Whether I shoot macro, wildlife, concerts or whatever, it’s a very convenient means to get original angles and more creative pictures on the ground or above a crowd.

- Image Quality and Sensor Performances.

- The NFC and WiFi feature is to be able to use one’s smartphone as a smart remote and copy image. In fact, I don’t have to stand behind my camera to take the picture.

- The short distance between the sensor and the lens is one of mirrorless’ best advantages. It allows the use of whichever lens I want via an adapter. There are adapters for all existing brands.

Monday, October 11, 2010 Song of they day: Paramore “We Are Broken”

Happy National Coming Out Day to all you lovers out there, and I mean ALL you lovers! This day recognizes equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals which is something I strongly believe in. Frankly, it is absurd and flat out silly to me that one human being would judge, ridicule, criticize, and even simply look differently at another human just because of their sexuality. Haven’t we progressed enough as a species to realize that we are all different and that we all deserve respect and by continuing to do what we’re doing is only going to put an end to the human population and not make us stronger and more prosperous which is what we should be working towards? Obviously we haven’t. Adolescents and adults alike are being bullied and treated unfairly because of who they love. This is wrong and needs to stop. Open your eyes, people, and realize that YOU are different too, and you deserve to be treated equally, no matter what gender you think is sexy or what person you fall in love with.

I chose to have the yellow crayon ‘coming out’ because yellow is and always has been my favorite color; Are you going to judge me for that?

I understand the storm chasers. There is a certain excitement in the air surrounding a storm.

I skirted the edges of this storm west of Wichita. The radio crackled with the reporters voices as they reported hail and high winds throughout the area. Occasionally a distant lightning strike would pierce the sky.

I managed to stay just out of it. The wind was actually calm. Not blowing, like you would imagine. Maybe I was far enough removed.

I drove these back roads, shooting different scenes. Not a soul in sight.

There is a certain peace to being out there, alone, on the edge of the storm.

I have often noticed how vivid the colours are in flowers that are dying off. They are still as beautiful as the buds beside them!
