I'm travelling and need to figure out how to hook onto the wireless; I'm borrowing my father's computer currently. This is a stylized Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer with the symbol for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for his nose. CBC owns this animated feature.

6" Fruit & nut cake made for a friend. Burgandy bow and gold holly. Not really traditional, but I thought it looked Christmassy and festive.

The Christmas greetings are starting to come in. I have noticed over the year that fewer people are sending them due to the cost. I get some virtual ones too. I love them all, but I especially like the one with the little cabin on it. It's actually a copy of an original painting by Pres. Jimmy Carter. He and Roseline send me a card every Christmas :)

Christmas Palace is a place in Amsterdam where there's always Christmastime. You can buy Christmas related goodies or presents there. It's in the Singel opposite the flower market a.k.a. the bloemenmarkt (which roofs can be seen in the shot). It worths to see it: it's such a fun place. There's always a sign which indicates how many days left until Christmas. When I was there this year that was 119.

Christmas card postcard I bought in Almonte Ontario. The card was never used so I am not sure of how old it is. The card was printed in Saxony. The location for the stamp says "Domestic One cent. Foreign Two Cents."
For the first time ever, I decided to hang some christmas lights on the house. Just the porch - the rest of the house would require some serious ambition (and a ladder) :)
I have collected so many wonderful Christmas decorations over the years. This was Mom's favorite time of the year and I remember fondly some of our many trips to antique malls to pick up vintage ornaments. I still think those are the prettiest. The ceramic Santa train is one that Dad and I found on one of our recent trips to the antique malls.
I had to expand Christmas Corner along the long wall to the adjacent corner this year in order to display some of my favorites. You can see that I also have a wide collection of cat themed Christmas decorations. Not as hard to find as you might think! The tall book is The Night Before Christmas that my brother and I read every year on Christmas Eve. The Jingle Dingle book is one that I found as I was cleaning out Mom's stuff. It appears to be one she had as a child.
