Mom did the "random" tree this year, as opposed to the seashore theme or candy cane tree, which coordinate lights, decorations, and even wrapping paper.

Well yes, I've been using my sketchbook to work out ideas for a possible lino cut Christmas card design. Some are not really very good, or maybe I should say I don't think I'd use them after all. I like the Santa better than this one although this one might be nice if I used a few different colors.

Paul and I went out for breakfast this morning, it was a day when we didn't have to get up early (Tanner is with his mom) and it was so nice. Now he's going roping and I've got quite a few hours to work on my Found: In Japan project. I've printed the first color and now I've got a lot more carving to do before I can print the second color. I suppose the carving will take up my time today. I am going to take pictures of each stage of the color process.

Tonight we are going to the PBR! Don't know what that is? It's professional Bull Riding and it's here in our area right now so we have tickets and will be there screaming with the rest of the fans tonight. For those that didn't realize it, my husband and son are both cowboys, team ropers actually. I'm glad they don't ride bulls but we do enjoy watching the bull riding and have done so for many years. Tanner is going to bring a friend that has never even been to a rodeo before, should be fun for him.

Well that's all for now, hope you are having a great weekend :-D

Christmas Day 2015

Decorations with snow (12-18-2010).

Fresh baked rolls, honey and butter, bacon, and eggnog.

An estate sale today yielded all this stuff! Christmas galore, vintage children's books,a delicate miniature set of nesting baskets with lids, and more! They didn't have the Christmas ornaments out yet so I was the first to get a go. I LOVE Christmas stuff! My favourites are the international doll ornaments and the 10" Holt Howard feathery angel.

JCI Christmas Party 2014

I was lucky enough to receive the most beautiful, seasonal bouquet today. Sparkly flowers will always make me smile.

A cozy nook. Why can't the magic of Christmas eve last just a little longer???

(Photo by Terri Cossey) The "Christmas Tree" prop is used to simulate a large LP Gas fire. Flames from this prop are impressive and can reach 40 to 50 feet high. To successfully master this evolution, a team of five firefighters must advance two hose lines within 2-3 feet of the tree and turn a valve to simulate turning off the flow of gas.

Prepping for the Christmas Party -- Katherine got to mop the (indoor) tile.

this is actually 3 pictures "stitched" together. I still have alot to learn. I have many Villiage sets. I'll take pictures as I decorate more!

The higher the hair the closer to God - and what better time to have big hair than Christmas!

This Christmas season has been crazy. I haven't had a moment to myself.

But since it's all about Christmas - I love it!
