From sunny beaches of Cuba to dark, misty streets of Warsaw... ;)
The Christmas feeling is all over the city....
Christmas decorations remind us that not much time is left...
Are you prepared for Christmas?...
The giant Christmas tree made it's annual return to the Queen Victoria Building (QVB) in Sydney city, Australia.
Christmas tree lights thrown out of focus using a tilt-shift lens to get the dreamy lights.
Apologies to all who have viewed this one already, but I managed to have a bit of a Lightroom failure and lost a lot of photos that I had published to Flickr. So here it is again.
Grrr technology!!
I fell in love with NoKnitSherlock's Owl Puff on Ravelry and had to copy her mods and color selection. Please forgive me, Susan, I couldn't resist!

our christmas tree this year, mainly focused on a golden bauble (:
was going to upload a special photo for the last photo of 2009, but this was all i could upload before my storage run out, nevermind. I'll upload it in 2010 ;) ahh that sounds so weird saying that :P
to me this years been strange, i've met some really amazing friends who i'll never forget, but I've also lost some very special friends in a way that is unhealable. I've tried new things, changed alot, learnt alot more, and learned to let go more, but not entirely.
horse riding was amazing in summer, the fast canters down fields with spider surging below me, the jumping, the whole thing was amazing, but winter let it down and I need to get the confidence I had in summer back, quick.
then there was rushing about markets in the snow buying lemon sherbets and going shopping and drinking starbucks, crunching through the leaves, going to bramham, halloween, setting marshmallows on fire, the cinema, pleasure beach.. theres been some amazing times.
Maybe I'll still be on here, this time next year saying how amazing 2010 has been..But i've got to let go of alot of the things of 2009 now, say goodbye & then forget.
hope everyone has an amazing 2010, and that their dreams come true :) xx
goodbye 2009 (:

The cake is now iced & decorated :)
Wishing my Flickr friends a wonderful Christmas x
In 1982 we lived in Amesbury, Massachusetts. My parents came visiting at Christmas. James was 3 at the time and Carolyn was 10 months. It was her first Christmas and my father's last. He died in January, 1983.

My dad and my aunt opening presents. But what did me and my sisters notice? THAT CHAIR. On the right, in the background. Me any my little sis are both absolutely in love with that chair, and wish they'd held on to it. Rich blue, mid-Century design with silver accent thread?? Oh my goodness, how fabulous!
The silver tree to match is super-awesome as well.

My sister got a kitten named Timmy for Christmas. He immediately took charge of the model railroad set and played the part of a giant monster attacking the passengers and terrorizing the countryside. Next he attacked a little wind-up toy that would start out as a double-decker bus, go into a tunnel, and come out the other side as a single level bus, then reverse course to go back through in the other direction and pick up the double deck again. At the end of the movie, someone rings his dinner bell in the kitchen and he goes running off.
When I were a lad, we got an apple for Christmas and were happy! Christmas 1974 at my gran and papa's
The bells I bought from the gift shop at PCMC the year we had to be there the week before Christmas. That year I definitely heard the bell ringing, Polar Express style.
Christmas it's full of icons. This is an ode to simple things, like sleep, eat and drink, pulcinella with panettone and spumante is happy.
Alternately, this project could be called: killing time before it's time to go see Twilight!
I know that some people who made this project cut out a heavy piece of cardboard as the back, but I knew I wouldn't be able to do that and have it be neat. Instead, I bought a styrofoam wreath at Michaels and wrapped it with green ribbon that I found in the $1 clearance bin.
