Hello Everyone,
My Christmas Painting is somewhat a yearly holiday tradition; here is the one for this year of 2009. Watercolour on Arches 140lb rough paper, 18”x24”, 2009
The year 2009 has been a difficult one for many, beside the usual countries in conflict and natural disasters. The world also faced financial melt-down, millions lost their jobs and life saving. Some of my friends and family also face old age, illness and death.
However, during my daily walk around the city, there are many simple things in life reminded me there still hope and joy.
This year Christmas painting is inspired by one of these daily treasures I witness: during the spring time for a few short days when the tulips in bloom. There were many houses some were expensive and some were not however they all offered me enjoyment with blooms from their gardens to enjoy. One house in Chinatown has some of the most exquisite tulips in their prime. These most gorgeous orange tulips with its lacy edges (fancy frills), like I had never seen before
From late morning to early afternoon, the sunlight shinning from behind they were the most glorious. I make a point, everyday around the same time to take photos of them. Even the street was a well travel one but everyone was too busy to stop and admires them. No doubt, the owner must hard at work to paid for their home and provide for their family. Sometimes I wish the owner should have the chance to experience the joy these beautiful tulips gave me.
May you all find the simple joy in life!

I just got my new Canon Rebel XTi tonight and since it's a Christmas present I had to go photo Christmas lights. I think this camera and I are going to be very happy together.

I shoot a lot of sports, so normally do not use VR, it did help with this shot, 1/20 sec handheld; the latest generation of VR is amazing.

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.

A wooden decoration, a miniature replica of a "Christmas Pyramid", from a vendor at the Konstanz Christmas Market. The history of the Pyramids dates back to the middle ages, when evergreen parts were brought into homes to ward off "moroseness". The Chrismas Pyramid unified this with a Northern European tradition of using candles for the same purpose. Christmas Pyramids were eventually replaced by Christmas Trees, but they are still present in many European Christmas Markets today.
Merry Christmas!! Every one :D
Dress up Suume and Marron and made some snapshot! Made them more Christmas looks! :3 Have a great holly day!
Lights, christmas trees, shopping, eating and if you're lucky, lots of snow. Christmas in Copenhagn is wonderful. Here are some basic facts about this special time of the year in the Danish capital.
In the town itself, various shops have their own traditional ways to celebrate Christmas. Royal Copenhagen's showroom at Amagertorv, filled with beautiful porcelain, silver and crystal, is the place to acquire a Christmas plate. It can be a Bing & Grøndahl or a Royal Copenhagen plate. Another tradition started in 1910 is the specially designed (but not inexpensive) holiday dessertspoon and fork. In the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain House, well-known Danes using Royal Copenhagen finery, each year with a different theme, create elaborate Christmas tables.
Merry Christmas!

It's a cottage decorated for Christmas. Created using basic bricks and tiles, it's one of my rare buildings.
It was a big effort to create such a thing. My parts collection is oriented to the creation of vehicles, not houses.
Also it doesn't have minifigs, although it is minifig scale. The contest rules would not allow it. Besides, my minifigs are mostly city workers, mechanics and race car drivers.
Inspiration came from many photos and postcards I found on Google.
I wish I could put a V8 and some big tires in there... :D
