Christmas Alley in i-City. Managed to capture this last night. I like this because of the flash from the visitor going at the same time I took the picture.
Until one feels the spirit of Christmas, there is no Christmas. All else is outward display--so much tinsel and decorations. For it isn't the holly, it isn't the snow. It isn't the tree not the firelight's glow. It's the warmth that comes to the hearts of men when the Christmas spirit returns again. ~Unknown

Christmas Eve Fireworks are as regular an event as we we can make them. Some years they are more extensive than others, but we generally manage at least a quick round of fire & sparks.

Poor neglected Flickr! I need to get busy and upload some new pics here!
Busy busy, and taking time to enjoy the holidays and my grandson.
Here he is 11 months old already, and the new love of my life!! He loved my house at Christmas! For those of you that remember ALL the holiday decorations I used to post here, he was in wide eyed wonder at it all.
And I didn't even completely decorate the whole house!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday....got to spend time with loved ones, and have been healthy and happy this past year!
For those of you that would like to try the star bokeh texture that I used on this photo, you can find a link to download on my blog post here . I also have a linky tool beneath the post, so if you use it, I'd love for you to show me by using the linky!!

This is a night shot of some of decorations on a Christmas tree at one of the entrances to a local subdivisions.
Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world. A liturgical feast central to Christianity, preparation for Christmas begins on the First Sunday of Advent and it is followed by Christmastide, which historically in the West lasts twelve days and culminates on Twelfth Night. Christmas Day is a public holiday in many countries, is celebrated religiously by a majority of Christians, as well as culturally by many non-Christians, and forms an integral part of the holiday season surrounding it.
There are different hypotheses regarding the date of Jesus's birth. In the early fourth century, the church fixed the date as December 25, the date of the winter solstice in the Roman calendar. It is nine months after Annunciation on March 25, also the Roman date of the spring equinox. Most Christians celebrate on December 25 in the Gregorian calendar, which has been adopted almost universally in the civil calendars used in countries throughout the world. However, part of the Eastern Christian Churches celebrate Christmas on December 25 of the older Julian calendar, which currently corresponds to January 7 in the Gregorian calendar. For Christians, believing that God came into the world in the form of man to atone for the sins of humanity rather than knowing Jesus's exact birth date is considered to be the primary purpose of celebrating Christmas.
This is the mirror over the fireplace in our living room. I was rather full of cold when we got the decorations down from the loft, so I was happy to let Tim get all creative for Christmas!
May your Holiday Season be filled
with Love, Laughter, & Joy.
And may the New Year bring you
many magical moments
and the company of joyous people...

On our walk through a local park today we came across several memorial trees that had been dressed up for Christmas. What a great way to remember their loved ones at this time of year.
Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. All comments and Faves are very much appreciated
As the wife decorated the tree so well I thought I'd experiment with using my flash and fixed light to try and get some dynamic photos.
In the end though, just turning all the lights off in the room and allowing the fairy lights do the work produced the nicest picture.
Chuffed that I remembered to stop-down the aperture a bit to get the star-burst affect on the lights.
