Christmas Eve Fireworks are as regular an event as we we can make them. Some years they are more extensive than others, but we generally manage at least a quick round of fire & sparks.

Christmas in Bistrec, small village in Czornohora mountains in Ukraine.
During Christmas time in all Hutsul villages roam christmas waits, coming to houses with wishes of happiness in coming year. This is always big and important event.
From very fresh trip to Ukraine, I just came back this morning.
Our Christmas Tree. There are decorations that go on the tree year after year & some new ones each year.
I never fully appreciate the tree until I spend some time up close and take in the little hidden places between the branches.

Just out of simmer oven - 10 hours at 120C in water.
a wee bit late this year but it will be fine.
I have been making this pudding recipe for a long time. I adapted it over the years, critically appraising each pudding and deciding on changes to the recipe. ..but after this experimental tweeking phase it has become a stable recipe for past decade.

Im Vordergrund ein Likör lokaler Produktion sowie im Hintergrund ein Kalender der die Tage bis Weihnachten zählt.

The street was originally called Queene Street in medieval times before becoming known as Knyfesmyth Street, after the tradesmen there. The Middle English pronunciation of Knyfesmyth, with the K sounded, may be the origin of the street's modern name. An alternative theory is based on the nativity scene found in a stained glass window of The Chapel of the Three Kings of Cologne, which stands at the top of the steps.
In the 17th century, the Christmas Steps is also believed to have been called Lonsford's Stairs for a short period, in honour of a Cavalier officer who was killed at the top of the steps during the siege of Bristol in the English Civil War.
After the main set of steps the steps continue on the other side of Colston Street and then again across Perry Lane, leading to St Michael's Church these steps were originally unbroken by road and known as St. Michael's steps

Was ein Fest der Liebe sein sollte, wird zu einem Ereignis der Verweigerung, der Verneinung. Die Liebe sagt Ja, auch zur Verneinung. Ja und Nein spiegeln sich, und auf dieser Ebene freuten sich alle darüber, dass es dem Nicolaus gelungen war – gegen eine kleine Sonderzulage – seine Mannschaft wieder für die Schlittenfahrten einzuspannen. Und darum wird es auch in diesem Jahr wieder viele Geschenke geben, die daran erinnern, dass dem Menschen das Licht geschenkt wird. Das seine Situation erkennende Bewusstsein (auch die wahre Selbsterkenntnis genannt) wird auch als Licht umschrieben. Die Dunkelheit des Nicht-Wissens weicht dem aufgehenden Licht der Welt- und der Selbsterkenntnis.
Wintersonnenwende und die Geburt des „Lichtkindes“ liegen ein paar Tage auseinander doch sinngemäß fallen sie zusammen. Jesus wird geboren und das Licht wird wiedergeboren, denn die Tage werden ( auf der Nordhalbkugel) vom 21. Dezember an wieder länger.
Ich wünsche allen einen schönen Dezember. Und mögen St. Nicolaus und der Weihnachtsmann in freundlicher Gesinnung erscheinen und Licht und Glück in jeweils adäquater Form bringen.

Fantasy reflection on the big tree outside the Opryland Hotel, November 2015. My very best wishes to all of you!
The Christmas decorations are largely understated this year but hopefully they still look pretty. This is a plain white twig Christmas tree with built-in white lights and pale green baubles. Along the mantelpiece we have a green garland with warm white lights in. You can see our white fox ornament too.

First day of December - Christmas will be here before we know it. This is a Christmas decoration that I saw in the Christmas Shop in Banff. What a magical place to wander around in. Peter had to come in and drag me out LOL.
