In my family, we have two Christmas trees in the house. The one upstairs has a variety of decorations both old and new. Then we have the downstairs tree which only has baubles, a few pine cones, and glitter. It doesn't last as long (because of the fireplace) but it's my favourite one. This photo was taken in 2018 after I'd spent a year in North America. I brought with me a few baubles that I purchased while travelling - one of them being the blue SNL one in this shot.
I decorated this tree that I photographed last year in Utah.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Eve Fireworks are as regular an event as we we can make them. Some years they are more extensive than others, but we generally manage at least a quick round of fire & sparks.

Merry Christmas my Flickr family!!! Wishing the best to you and all your loved ones. This has been the best year by far since I've created my Flickr account (despite a few protests here and there wink* wink*) and I have nothing but good vibes for 2014. I've made some amazing friends along the way and I've been inspired by others like never before. There is no greater gift than being able to contribute and be a part of this incredible community. Thank you guys so much! I hope this image answers the question of where I live and officially document just how shiny the floor from my hallway really is. Hahaha ;) That’s my girlfriend at the end of the hallway and my apartment at the right. Sorry for the awkward pose, lol it’s been forever since I've been in the other side of the frame. To be clear I was doing my usual habit of closing my eyes and scratching my head when I feel uncomfortable lol but it sort of looks like I am posing. Usually I don’t look this grumpy, but I felt like an idiot every time I smiled and I know I’m probably going to find it hilarious when I’m older. Great day ahead everyone! Catch you guys a bit later! Peace ^__^
What I mostly wanted as a child was a new book to read on the Christmas holidays. I think the longing must have run in our family, as these volumes belonged to my great Aunts Blanche & Lilly from the early 1900s. Back in the days of no media entertainment and no music unless you made it yourself, these books must have been treasures to them.
You know how sometimes you're playing with the windlights and you get two completely different shots of the same pose and you can't decide which one you like better? Ugh. Which one?

We will be experiencing the warmest holiday on record. Instead of cold and snowy, we can expect warm rain for the day. Merry Christmas??
This afternoon I went to pay my respects to my mom where I scattered her ashes over the river at Ames Park on Christmas Day exactly one year after she passed away in 2008. I was feeling quite sorry for myself and missing her, when I looked up at the sky and saw something odd forming in the clouds above the Granada Bridge. The way the clouds swooped upwards reminded me of angel wings, but I couldn't really see anything until I uploaded the photo to my computer. Somehow I knew that when I used the HDR filter on it and brought up the detail with an eye-brighten tool, I would see something special, so I did just that. This was the result! There was no artwork or color added, just brightening of the image in the area I sensed had something to be seen. I was pretty blown away!
Whether you believe in angels or not, I do, and I really sensed there was a beautiful one over the place of my greatest grief and where I performed my most difficult act in this life. I felt a presence, though with the naked eye, I could hardly see anything.
Cameras capture many things that go unnoticed by us in daily life. Even in the original shot I could see something that looked like an angel, and it didn't take much enhancement to pull it up. All I had to do was brighten the shape I saw. Pretty cool, huh?
I no longer feel down and depressed. I know my mother isn't just in that water. She is in those clouds with the Lord!
Merry Christmas!
Yesterday, during the winter solstice, Jupiter and Saturn formed a planetary conjunction and appeared as an especially bright star in the night sky. Kepler noted that a similar conjunction occurred in 7 BC, which is very close to the birth of Christ, and so very close to the biblical occurrence of the star of Bethlehem which guided the wise men. Hence, it's reoccurrence right now is a pretty big deal to Christians, and is being referred to as the Christmas star. Regardless of faith or belief, this is the closest the two planets have been in 800 years.

"Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after 2 days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever. Great stories. But two things made me take it down.
First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.
Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn't realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). By the way, she was one of many people who attempted to do that. My yard couldn't take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard."

Merry Christmas to all you awesome people here, have a great day and enjoy the holidays! Thanks once again for all your support.
Just remember the Reason for the Season...it has to be said, every year. ;)
The year I got my T-Rex model and my Trust Me T-Shirt. My interests were pretty solidly going in the direction of monsters by now. Dinosaurs, monsters, anything spooky.
