As anyone who has been to Strasbourg can tell you, this is one of the main squares in town, Kléber Square or Place Kléber, and it is really done up at Christmas with beautiful lights and a huge decorated tree. This place gets packed with people everyday during the holiday season as do other parts of town with the one of the oldest Christmas markets in Europe happening throughout central Strasbourg. We were fortunate to spend Christmas in Strasbourg last year, but I never posted any of the photos I took while there, so I am doing that this year.
November 2008: I made these gift tags last weekend using white tags bought at Michael's, Stampin' Up stamps and ink, and Crayola colored pencils. I'm putting the mini light ornaments (also from Michael's) with the tags on my Christmas gifts.
My Christmas Angel is created out of images of smoke from incense sticks.

Christmas may be cancelled but the residents of this house in Leicester have still gone all out with their Christmas lights display attracting visitors from across the city.

I just wanted to take a moment of your time and thank your for all your warm and comforting comments on my last post. The loss of my son has been very difficult for me and my family, and having so much support from friends, family, and my fellow flickerites has meant so much to me.
A neighbor of mine brought over this lovely poem and I thought it would be appropriate to share with all of you. Hopefully it can comfort some of you who have also lost loved ones this year.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and an even better New Year. I'll be back posting and commenting again after the holidays.
My First Christmas in Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below,
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular! Please, wipe away the tears,
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear,
But earthly music can't compare with the Christmas choir here.
I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring
For it's beyond description to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me. I see the pain inside your heart,
But I am not so far away--we're really not apart.
So be happy for me, loved ones. You know I hold you dear.
Be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I'm sending you a special gift from my Heavenly home above.
The gift of happy memories of times of joy and love.
At times when you remember me, I hope it makes you smile.
I even hope amid the tears you'll laugh a little while.
Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do.
For I can't count the blessings or the love He has for you
After all, Love is the gift, more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
So have a Joyous Christmas--and wipe away that tear,
