A little lit up Christmas scene

The last of my seasonal offerings, as we managed to get a good fire blazing yesterday. Just taking these three photos over a couple of minutes I realise that the flames are constantly changing – often more interesting to look at than the TV... Toasting his chest on the left is a hare, not made of bronze as he pretends but actually fibreglass.

It seems that a new member has joined the family :D

The last Christmas sunrise of the decade. Didn't get out the door to catch the actual sunrise, but did like the colors from the front yard.

Christmas Eve sunset at Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach did not disappoint.

First attempt at this one as well. I may need more data, but at least the Cone sticks out nicely.

The Christmas Tree Cluster (NGC 2264) is a young, open star cluster in the constellation Monoceros, approximately 2,500 light-years away. It's part of a larger star-forming region, including the Cone Nebula and Fox Fur Nebula. The cluster spans about 30 light-years across.
