Extremely rare here, not sure if they actually sold any, if they did, it was just a handful.
This one had 2004 plates so obviously imported at some point.
Although the Toyota Camry is a name no longer seen on U.K. roads due to terrible sales in its latter years it can still be seen on new vehicles in other countries which probably explains this one made by Tian Du. Its quite an anonymous casting which reflects the plain styling of the real vehicle but has a fairly decent level of detailing for a cheapo model. You can probably find this Tian Du Toyota Camry in certain garage playsets here in the U.K. in stores such as B&M Bargains though this particular one came directly from China and is part of a 24 vehicle set. Mint and boxed.
Not another Camry photo? Not that one again? Yes, yes...
But, it might be mine soon! Went to view it properly today and liked it enough to talk money. Two local owners from new (not even the usual Toyota pre-registration, it's from a local dealer who I actually do some work for), 57k miles on the clock, generally good condition apart from a possible repair on the driver's door.
It's a manual too; while I'd be quite happy with auto for reasons of economy and robustness I'd prefer to change gears myself.
Got to wait until he's put it in for an MoT test later in the week before making a final decision...

Better photos of a car I've previously photographed. Amazing to think it's nearly 20 years old, looks to be in great condition. I left a note on it...
After 13 years of absence Toyota reintroduced the Camry in Europe in 2019. In most countries sales were quite low. So in 2023 Toyota stopped sales of the model here. It's powered by a 2.5 litre hybrid engine.
My 1993 Toyota Camry just turned 300,000 miles this morning. I've driven this car since it had 50,000 miles. I am very hard on it and have barely done any maintainence. It was never supposed to last this long and does not burn a drop of oil, although it does leak a little.
Had a brief chat with the owner and left my number should it ever come up for sale. Due to parts availability and sharper looks I’d rather have the following model, but if this were cheap enough I’d be tempted.
Astra van seen in the background is our works pool vehicle, I often use it for surveys etc.

Nice 80's stripe job here! Don't think I've ever seen one with these--probably means dealer-installed or aftermarket. I think '84 or older with the quad lamps.

The Corolla, Corona and Camry were probably the bestselling passenger cars (today the Corolla is still the clear leader, followed by the Vios).

Camry is available for adoption in Northern Virginia, USA, through HART .
Camry has an amazing story. He was in foster care in HART with his mom and siblings as a tiny guy. When it got time to be weaned he did not do well. He wanted to continue to nurse and had a strange aversion to cat food. He began eating non-food items. Then his behavior got really weird where he was ravenous all of the time but refused to eat. The vet worked him up and found that he had tons of stuff in his stomach! Like velcro and hair bands. So Camry had major abdominal surgery as a wee kitten to get the junk out of his belly. After the surgery he continued with his bizarre behavior.
Camry was then sent to one of the core HART members to see if she could figure out how to feed him. She lives near me, so I offered to make food for him. Well he loved my food! And fortunately, they sell food like mine at the specialty pet shops. I'm so glad. He is just a doll. I'm glad I finally met him today.
The reason I went to this scrapyard. A car I've been seeing around for a few years and I'd even had a chat with the owner once or twice, but looks like its time is now up.
Only a limited amount I need or can use off it for my earlier versions, but the wheels and tyres will be handy...
Rather less room in here than with the 2.2’s I’m used to! Car has done 128k, not too bad for nearly 20 years old. Lots of stamps in the service book, cam belt seems to have been changed at 109k, no signs of overheating, radiator leakage or head gasket failure, and the auto ‘box seems OK. A blow somewhere near the flexi connectors in the exhaust is the main thing needing attention.
If all else fails it could become a donor for the popular MR2 conversion, but that seems a shame when the car is so clean.
Edit: Found main dealer receipts last night for the cam belt change in 2006 plus front pads and discs there the same year. Everything I discover about this car makes me more determined to get it back on the road.

Odd to see a 'normal' one, I'm used to the stance of my similar-coloured Sport.
This one taxed until 2012 - someone buying a year's tax usually suggests they're a long-term owner.
Sadly, circumstances dictated that this one has had to go. I'd ended up with four cars taxed, insured and MoTed, three of them being Toyota Camrys. With ever-continuing bills and the need to cart things around, the estate I bought in the summer is better-suited to daily use so this one got put up for sale.
After no luck on car forums, I put it on Gumtree this morning and less than 12hrs later it'd gone. Friendly chap got the train up from London and has just driven off, it seems likely that it'll go for export to Nigeria after he's used it for a bit. Suits me fine, it was an easy sale, he wasn't overly fussy and I'm sure someone will appreciate it.
