After two weeks in the garage and the engine having been removed and refitted during that time, it's ready for the road again!

It might not look too smart on the outside, but with all the new parts fitted it should be good for many years to come.

Sadly I might have to sell the Sunny to pay for the work.....

1983 Toyota Camry DX (1.8 90 hp) at Rotterdam. Never seen this Camry before.

The first generation of the Toyota Camry in North America was introduced in 1983. It was Toyota first front wheel driven car in this class. It was sold until 1986.

Battery robbed from the Sunny to go and collect the new toy.....

The fifth generation of the Toyota Camry was sold between 2001 and 2006. The Camry wasn't a very succesful model in Europe. So this was the last generation of the Camry sold over here until Toyota reintroduced the Camry in Europe in 2019.

Place: Dali District, Taichung

This is the new Camry for Europe. Since 2006 the Camry has not been available here. It's sold in hybrid form only.

After 15 years on-and-off, I no longer own a Camry of any sort. It was 2006 when I bought my first estate, that's its tailgate on this car. With the house move coming up (hopefully, if some legal issues can be resolved in good time) they sadly had to go and selling them to this chap was a quick, easy way of moving them on.

There's a vague possibility the estate will see the road again, but I'm not too sure. Having got it back on the road after it was written-off it was already surving beyond its time. The saloon is at the front, that one's definitely for scrap once the engine, cat etc have been removed.

This one has been sitting outside without plates for a while now. Does not look too bad when it comes to rust.

Quite an unusual import. I saw this in traffic initially (previous pic), then managed this shot 15 mins later when I saw it parked at the pump.

225k (kms I'd guess) on the clock and not a great history of MOT passes, perhaps it doesn't like the UK...

Imagine how pleased I was to see this. Saw it driving into a local supermarket so had to follow it. Sadly I was in the Avensis at the time, but luckily I had a chat with the owner and hopefully I can help him out with some parts.

Turns out he's a bit of a Camry enthusiast as well, having owned a couple of saloons previously and he'd recently got this one from Oxford. It's done 77k from new.

The third generation of the Toyota Camry in Europe was built between 1991 and 1996. Export versions were wider than the models for the Japanese market. This one has a 2.2 litre engine with 136 PS.

Finally got round to seeing a local garage about trying to get this thing back on the road (it was the end of 2013 when it was rear-ended and it's sat on my driveway ever since).

They felt it was easiest if they put it in for an MoT which would cover the essentials, then go from there.

It drove up and down the track just fine, but I know there are a number of things which need attention - I'll find out what else there is tomorrow....

I think I was in the Camry when I first stopped and had a chat with the owner in 2013, despite and eventful time for it since it's still in use.

Paging Hubcaps NZ because I know he likes seeing the different clip designs and suppliers. The top one is FPE, the lower left is McKechnie and the lower right is Tokai Rika ("R"). As usual, the McKechnie version is the worst. This one is complete, but I have more with broken clips that I haven\'t cleaned yet. I think I can repair some of them.

Are there any more versions of this cap in other countries?

Seen in Croughton. This Camry is registered to Rijeka, the 3rd largest city in Croatia. Croatian cars are far from common in the UK and this particular vehicle is a USDM import. Funnily enough I caught quite a few USDM cars around here due to literally being a mile away from RAF Croughton but I'm only posting those spots on PlatesMania.
