Once again, Tassie turned on the weather for our trip to Bruny Island.

This shot was actually part of a panoramic, it wasn't meant to be a shot on its own. I'll eventually process the panorama, but for now I'll just enjoy the strong horizontal lines (which I so purposely set up, of course)

L'odiato 'Blue Monday' è oggi, il giorno più triste dell'anno !

SOOC - long-ish exposure with a glowstick beginning to glow - I snapped it and then left it standing up. I was hoping to get some more details of the bubbles but it had to be a longer exposure for the light.

Almost blue

Almost doing things we used to do

There's a boy here and he's almost you

Almost all the things that your eyes once promised

I see in his too

Now your eyes are red from crying

Almost blue

Flirting with this disaster became me

It named me as the fool who only aimed to be

Almost blue

It's almost touching it will almost do

There's a part of me that's always true...always

Not all good things come to an end now it is only a chosen few

I've seen such an unhappy couple

Almost me

Almost you

Almost blue

(Chet Baker - Almost blue)

Taken on a 53 year-old lens. Meritar 50mm f/2.9 with an old extension tube and an EF adapter. Mounted on a tripod, against a window with a white piece of paper as the backdrop. Natural lighting, food colouring, a teaspoon and this song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHvWURUzj3Q

The Blue-throated Barbet (Megalaima asiatica) is an Asian barbet, seen across the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Barbets and toucans are a group of near passerine birds with a world-wide tropical distribution. The barbets get their name from the bristles which fringe their heavy bills; this species eats fruits and insects.

I believe this to be a Red Spotted Purple, but if anyone knows for sure, please let me know.

This picture was shot with the incandescent white balance setting, which is why it has its exaggerated blueness.
