My take on the Blue Angels' performance during the Kansas City Air Show. It began with the flyover of the C-130.
This photo is of a blue glass vase that I bought in Habitat before I was married - so it is over 20 years old. Quite amazing it hasn't made it into one of my 365s before.
Not the shot I envisaged. This was the test shot to check on exposure - the yellow background was a massive over exposure (the vase was set on a roll of red paper) and the front two sides of the glass are picking up red reflections from that background. However, when I corrected the exposures and flash balances, used reflectors and a backlight to make the vase appear more blue, etc., I found I preferred this original shot. The red at the top is added in Photoshop.

When Mr. Sparks and I went to Underwater World Singapore, I took pictures of the jelly fishes knowing I could use it for the Foto-Buddies' assignment on color. But I was actually going for the ultra pink jelly fish, as a contrast to the ultra blue waters (cause I read in a tutorial that that's how you use color to create a picture that has impact). But upon review on my computer monitor, I ended up liking this blue mono shot better than my shots with contrasting colors.
Nearly got into deep water taking this....started to roll towards the pond..wet converse and wet ass!
I was so happy to see the blue peeking through on my Hydrangeas! Every year is a surprise color, and this is by far my favorite!
12/365 taken 7/3/09 - the blue "veil" was the decoration that came around the 4th of July flowers my sister had brought down from Trader Joe's in Massachusetts. I thought it might make for an interesting photo prop. Rough pastel filter was added here to help compensate for the graininess. View On Black

This was one of the most difficult shots I've ever made. This little guy is about the size of a dime, he's on a single blade of grass. They almost never open their wings unless the temperature is below 70 degrees, and in Alabama that's almost never. He wouldn't let me get closer than about 5 feet without flying away, so I had to shoot this with my 300mm with a 2x adapter, hand held with no image stabilizer and manual focus. Took about 30 tries for this one. These little gems look so good and are so shy, I've been trying to get this shot for long time.
