A wide view of the famous Blue Lake in Mount Gambier, South Australia, Australia.
The Blue Lake was formed out of a volcanic crater, which last erupted 5000 years ago. From November to March, the lake turns to a vibrant cobalt blue colour, returning to a colder steel grey colour in the cooler months. The colour is believed to be due to the precipitation of calcium carbonate from warmer water in summer, which enables micro-crystallites of calcium carbonate to form in suspension. This results in a scatter of the blue wavelengths of light, causing the blue effect.
The colour you see in this image is accurate: the colour is truly amazing!
(See how it looked in January 2010).

Used a blue gel attached to my off camera strobe (flash) to right of camera. EC was - 1 1/3 to offset the flash and reflections. This was my first time using a gel. Lots of cool results from it. Used my favorite lens the old nifty 50! Never lets me down.
"Blue Moon 2013: Rare Full Moon Visible In Night Sky This Month... This month's full moon, which rises on Tuesday (Aug. 20), is not just a Blue Moon — it's also the Full Sturgeon Moon, the Full Red Moon, the Green Corn Moon and the Grain Moon."
And let me share with you this music video "East to West" by Casting Crowns, because I can totally relate to this message & it goes perfectly with Sunset in the West & Moonrise in the East. Blessings, Sharon

A blue monocot (flower parts in multiples of three) flower, seen growing in a yard in Southern California. I believe this is a species of Allium. Any correction in this identification would be appreciated. The flower was perhaps 2/3 inch or 2 cm across.
Larger sizes available.

Who said that a blue rose doesn't exist?
The blue hue brought out some details that were washed out by the original color. It also made the edges of the petals white. It suprised me and I hope you like it!
This pattern is suitable for all products in 1/2", 5/8", 3/4" and 1" width
Suggested corresponding nylon colors: Light Blue, Brown

Another session this afternoon. I was able to get a fair bit closer today. I will spend a bit of time with this guy over the weekend.
