A male Silver-studded Blue amongst the Bracken. I think he stands out like a jewel amongst the greens of the Bracken fronds.
The summer in the UK has been pretty rubbish so I am thankful for chances to travel to places where its guaranteed! Next up is an exciting tour I'll be co-leading of wild Spain in September. Its in conjunction with a top pro wildlife / landscape photographer and assisted by another vastly experienced tour guide and local expert on birds of the region - both are residents of Spain so really know their stuff!
It promises to be a fiesta of birds and butterflies, set in a beautiful and incredibly biodiverse area!
We'll be offering 2 options to suit peoples availability and budgets - stay with us for the full 8 day trip, or do a long weekend with us over 4 days.
If anyone is interested in finding out more do get in touch.

From the time we enjoy the beauty of the nature, it's also the time we need to action, to protect the environment.
A Blue Headed Vireo, We tried for Hours to get images of these Guys, they kept behind branches trees and habitat and more or less higher up in the tree canopy, although we found them just about everywhere in our travels.... This was the only image I came away with... I need to disclose that the background was heavily blurred to help bring some Isolation to the bird, the Original was Busy!

A trip to Coolangatta July 26, 2012, Queensland Australia.
Coolangatta is the southernmost suburb of the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It has a population of 4,869 and is named after the schooner Coolangatta which was wrecked there in 1846.
Coolangatta and its immediate neighbouring "Twin Town" Tweed Heads in New South Wales have a shared economy. The Tweed River supports a thriving fishing fleet, and the seafood is a local specialty offered in the restaurants and clubs of the holiday and retirement region on both sides of the state border.
The Gold Coast Airport, formerly known as Coolangatta Airport, is located at Coolangatta, with some of the runway going across the border into New South Wales.
Coolangatta was one of the earliest settlements on the Gold Coast. Once again focused on a steep headland at Point Danger the area was occupied by Europeans from at least 1828 by a convict station and red cedar getters soon followed. Selectors followed in the 1860s and a small settlement at Coolangatta was established. In 1883 a township was surveyed.
