Further Notes: Prior to the Digital Age, newspapers, books, posters, tickets, forms, and all other types of printed-paper were produced with a printing press. To form the words, moveable type was used and print blocks would be used along side to add images or decorations around the text. A print block is also known as a letterpress cut or a printing die.

La band nasce nel 2007 dalle ceneri dei Woptime. Vengono formati da Saverio Sgaramella (voce), attivo nella scena hardcore italiana sin dagli anni '80 (periodo d'oro di band come Negazione e Raw Power), nonchè uno dei più noti pro-skaters dell'epoca vantando esibizioni e gare a livello mondiale.
A pochi mesi dalla nascita la band diventa una delle più attive a livello di esibizioni dal vivo, costruendosi da sola, in un periodo dove chi paga si aggiudica il posto migliore in scaletta. Con un'attitudine che proviene dagli anni vissuti in strada, il sound dei Concrete Block riflette il malessere e l'angoscia di chi vive giorno per giorno con le spalle al muro, prendendo tutti i calci e i pugni che la vita riserva.
Dopo il primo MiniCD "Down With the Madness" uscito per Countdown Records in Luglio 2007, i Concrete Block suonano costantemente e condividono il palco con Sepultura, Sick Of It All, Murphy's Law, Maroon, Shattered Realm, Skarhead, Agnostic Front, The Business, Slapshot e tanti altri. Nel 2008 esce il loro primo vero full length "Life Is Brutal" (Countdown Records) prodotto da Daniele Giordana. Per molti questo disco diventa subito l'album hardcore italiano dell'anno.
Alla fine del 2009 dopo due dischi la line-up originale si scioglie, ma la band con una nuova formazione continua a suonare dal vivo. Dopo alcune date gloriose di nuovo assieme ad Agnostic Front e Skarhead arrivano problemi per Saverio, che convinto ad emigrare negli States viene bloccato in Italia per problemi tipo galera, carenza di una base monetaria, situazione lavorativa pessima ed un divorzio alle porte.
Dopo aver passato il periodo Saverio rimette in piedi la formazione con nuovi elementi, riprendono le prove, i concerti ed inizia la stesura di pezzi nuovi. Il bassista viene rimpiazzato perchè trova posto in un TV show come stand up commedia e l'album nuovo prende forma. Si arriva al 2013 con una piena attività live e "Twilight of the Gods", l'ultimo lavoro uscito per F.O.A.D. Records, registrato al One Black Sox studio da Carlo Girardi. E' la storia continua…

This is a knife block built out of pine, filled with bamboo skewers. The total cost has been about $30.
Your mileage may vary though, as I did find a sweet deal on skewers at a crazy Asian market. Then I got to explain just why I was buying 3,100 bamboo skewers.

Description of Historic Place:
The Caldwell Block is a two-storey, Edwardian style commercial building on the main downtown thoroughfare in Nanaimo. The historic place is confined to the building footprint.
Heritage Value:
The Caldwell Block is an integral part of a continuous line of largely intact, similarly scaled buildings located on the west side of Commercial Street.
Built in 1908, the Caldwell Block is a good example of a modest, vernacular Edwardian Commercial style building. The original brick façade is obscured by stucco but some of its features, including a cornice with brackets and moulded fascia, are still visible. Traces of the painted Caldwell's Clothing House sign are visible on the building's east side. Despite alterations, the building has maintained its character and reinforces the Edwardian era appearance of the west side of Commercial Street.

Green-Wood Cemetery, Located in Greenwood Heights, Brooklyn, it lies several blocks southwest of Prospect Park, between Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, Borough Park, Kensington, and Sunset Park. Green-Wood was able to take advantage of the varied topography provided by glacial moraines. Battle Hill, the highest point in Brooklyn, is on cemetery grounds, rising approximately 200 feet above sea level. As such, there on that spot in 1920, was erected a Revolutionary War monument by Frederick Ruckstull, Altar to Liberty: Minerva. From this height, the bronze Minerva statue gazes towards The Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor.The cemetery was the idea of Henry Evelyn Pierrepont,[7] a Brooklyn social leader. It is still an operating cemetery with approximately 600,000 graves spread out over 478 acres. The rolling hills and dales, several ponds and an on-site chapel provide an environment that still draws visitors. The gates were designed by Richard Upjohn in Gothic Revival style. A Designated Landmarks of New York plaque was erected on it in 1958 by the New York Community Trust. A descendent colony of monk parakeets that are believed to have escaped their containers while in transit now nests in the spires of the gate, as well as other areas in Brooklyn. The cemetery was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2006.
