Marina City is a mixed-use residential/commercial building complex occupying an entire city block on State Street in Chicago, Illinois. It lies on the north bank of the Chicago River in downtown Chicago, directly across from the Loop district. The complex consists of two high rise corncob-shaped 65-story towers (including five-story elevator and physical plant penthouse), at 587-foot (179 m) tall. It also includes a saddle-shaped auditorium building, and a mid-rise hotel building, all contained on a raised platform adjacent to the river. Beneath the raised platform at river level is a small marina for pleasure craft, giving the structures their name. Marina City is notable in that it is the first building in the United States to be constructed with tower cranes.

.Does not lend it'self easily to an 8 inch block. I made my 4 patches 21/8 inches and used oversized triangles then trimmed all blocks to 3 1/8 inches. Starting with 2 inch 4 patches might be better. the 4 patches would float, but you would not lose your points.

...my first "scrappy" block, with 5 different prints for the center cross. i think i really like only having 2 different prints (one main, for the 4 points and one center) for the center cross.
A stranger is parked in my driveway. I stop and honk to get her attention. She looks at me and goes back to playing with her phone. Meanwhile, traffic is backing up behind me. Eventually she starts her car and pulls forward a little but then stops again and looks at me. Eventually she pulls forward a little, then stops again to put her seat belt on. Finally she leaves but she did return later.
