My Precious 'Polaroid' blocks for the Picture Perfect Polaroid Block Swap. Some more of the blocks I made - here is one of my 'precious' Amy Butler Love scraps, leftover from the quilt I am making from the first 'My Precious' link up.
We went to see the Hershey's factory in Smiths Falls, Ontario, in August 2008, a few months before they closed for good, I believe. Though its not a big town, it was a real maze getting there, and we almost gave up. The tour is from a glassed-in viewing gallery one floor above the factory; still, it might have yielded some intriguing photos, if taken pictures hadn't been forbidden. But no-one said one couldn't take pictures of the glass wall at the entrance.
I worked all the ones you sent in there and even tossed in one from the pile. :) Thanks so much for coordinating this bee, Deb. I had lots of fun making everyone's blocks. :)

Hand Block Printing, a specialty of Jaipur uses wooden blocks to print different designs on various clothing items and fabrics using natural colors.
ladmquilter's colours for this quarter of the 3x6 bee were blue, gray and green. She asked for a gray background (I used Kona medium gray.) The feeling of the block really changes a lot when white isn't used for background.
I made this block using the tutorial here at the blog Needles and Spatula. It was very easy (no pinning required and lots of room for error.) The hardest part was deciding how to arrange the squares. I thought that this arrangment would work well with the wonkiness of the circles and was different from the usual. I loved the result so much that I now have a plan to make an entire quilt of blocks like these using cool-toned shot cottons.
tried out my new blocking wires to block megs afghan. once i figured out how to use them i was so impressed with how easy it is to block it straight and square!

This stacked-coins mini quilt block was really fun. Simple and a good way to use a lot of fun fabric.
