My choir has a lovely director. For our last concert (a group of freedom songs from South Africa and civil rights songs from the US) she bought an African-looking batik for all of us to wear a bit of, in whatever fashion we desired. After the concert, I collected most of it and am putting it into a quilt for her. I'm very excited.
I plan to have all the singers sign a block on the back and we'll present it to her some place neat. Maybe at our next performance?
I also have a rusty red solid and a black solid for other boxes.
The method used is similar to Ashley's (Film in the Fridge) Modified Bento Box.
Crib quilt, approximately 40 by 50", in the pattern Bento Box. I used remnants I had around, include Marimekko display fabrics from the Crate&Barrel in Wilmette, IL.

Photo Title: Unazukin Dolls Bento
Description: I made this bento because I find unazukin dolls very cute. I love to make cute food and be creative. I hope this bento will make people smile . The unazukin dolls are onigiri made from rice. The faces of my unazukin dolls are made out of soy sauce-tinted quail eggs. I used a nori punch to make the facial details. The pink doll is coloured with beet juice and the yellow one with turmeric powder. Their clothes are decorated with cheese (and salami) flowers and lettuce. The other bento box contains homemade boiled dumplings and chicken teriyaki/hot sauce/salad wrapper.
Another sale Lunchbox (750ml). I found the removable dividers quite charming.
There were bigger ones with even more dividers and possibilities to arrange them, but i needed a slim box to fit into my briefcase.
The bottom tier of the bento box has yummy fresh veggies: broccoli (baby trees), carrot sticks (lumber), cucumbers (forest flowers), and a candy salad. ;)
The top has a hardy beef with sour cream and brown rice with cheese. Watch out for bears in the forest! He's holding Ranch dressing!

I hope this is what you had in mind. If not just let me know as the blocks were so quick and easy to make I will quite happily make more. In fact I amgoing to have to make one of these quilts for myself too!
My bento box with something resembling California Rolls. I'm not too fond of the raw stuff, so I think all my future rolls will be something like these.

Vegetarian Bento, for a dear work colleague. She's a girl but Tractor picks were all I had ^^
Sandwiches are mayo lettuce and cheese.
Sides include Brocolli, Tamago, Cucumber, Carrot and cherry tomato.
The side dish of "vegetables" are some cute erasers I got from Morning Glory and some veggie sauce bottles.
Does the chicken look the same? .... Not!

I made a bento for myself and here are the pictures I took of it :). Unfortunately I didn't get to eat it at school because I became ill, so I had to eat it at home ;____;.
Some of the pictures are a little blurry, but, i was in a little bit of a hurry to take them :), anyway, I'm happy with the way they've turned out ^^.
Can't wait to make another bento :D
