bento box!! My rice seasoning I bought turned out to have fish extract in it because I didn't read the ingredients carefully enough. So I made my own rice seasoning with hot sauce, bragg's liquid aminos, rice vinegar, and black and white sesame seeds. this photo is with the cover on

Fabrics purchased at Fabric Corner in Arlington, MA. It was half off so I picked out a bunch of colors, but didn't know what to do with them. I sewed a couple of blocks and really loved the contrast of bento box. The border fabric was purhcased at Jo-Anns (I think it was quilter's cotton). This is an up-close shot of quilting

The high inner lid is great, if you (like me) tend to pile up your ingredients. And there's still space to put an instant miso soup ball between the lid and the upper bowl.

A workshop participant picks up seaweed "eyes" that have been created with a hole puncher with a pair of tweezers.
A somewhat boring but veggie packed bento for school today. Bento contains carrot kinpira, steamed butternut squash and broccoli, veggie nuggets and radish flower.

- insalata iceberg e pomodori pachino, la carotina è per il sale;
Nella vaschetta di sinistra:
- 5 maki sushi carota e salmone, tonno, un uovo-onigiri e un onigiri al tonno e maionese;
Nella vaschetta di destra: coniglio-mela e mela e cannella.
a much better arrangement, including cutting the polenta to fit the top tier perfectly. also makes it easier when i want to reheat the roasted veggies on the bottom tier to let out the container with strawberries and the egg half.
