I saw this idea at a bento lunch box website somewhere. All I did was split a bun lenght hotdog in half and then cut halfway down twice, vertically. When broiled, they fan out like this. If you had some cloves handy, you could make eyes, too.

Or, shall we say, "i've got nothing to use to make a bento". this was a rather quickly put together bento, but wound up tasting yummy! here's what was inside:
1. 2 vegetarian eggrolls (they came in a box...heated up quickly...and were easy to put into the box. highly recommended for days when you need a FAST lunch!)
2. bed of sweet peas and sugar snap peas under the eggrolls
3. corn on the cob (i dunno - it was there, easy, and tasty! doesn't really go with the theme, though)
4. nummy chocolate cookies

This quilt was a challenge for me as the fabric I recieved from my partner was so for removed from my usual choices. Because of the shapes of ther pieces I recieved I trimmed all strips to 5" widths. I made courthouse blocks with 5" centres and two ourter borders in 2.5" strips. Blocks were made in pairs, cut in quarters and mixed to create the Bento Block. I had enough fabric for 16 completed blocks. When laid out the blue/white flower print to be alternated in each corner to create some consistancy.
The finished quilt is 48" square
