Hi cardmakers, scrapbookers, project lifers… and crafters in general :).
Here I am on a beautiful sunny Sunday sharing the card I made for two important occasions. The first one is from where I took the inspiration, the CFMBC#12 - littlemisst-papercraft.blogspot.com/2014/04/cure-for-mond... - and the second one, but equally important, the birthday of my best friend’s younger daughter. It’s just a simple card with no fancy techniques, but it turned out kind of cute. If you want to play along there is still time, but hurry up.
I stamped the background with these set of borders I absolutely love, removing some ink here and there to achieve an uneven look. Then I stamped the box without the furry cat onto pattern paper with a white cardstock for the inside, I also stamped the base of the owl onto pattern paper. The sentiment is from the Furry Cat stamp set, as well. I cut some simple geometric shapes from white cardstock and pattern paper (the blue one) to make them look like packages and colored using pencils, shading with oil pastels. The small white bag has a tiny stripe of washi tape and the number 1 is a sticker covered with gold Stickles. I cut out the eyeglasses from pattern paper and covered the lenses with GA, added some tiny sequins to finish it off. The kraft card base was stamped in a woodgrain pattern.
Supplies:
Stamps: HA - Designer Woodgrain; SSS - Artful Borders, Furry Cat & Box; CBS - You’re A Hoot II.
Dies: CBS - You’re A Hoot; Spellbinders Shapeabilities - On the edge.
Coloring: VersaFine - onyx black; VersaMagic - sea breeze, key lime, pixie dust; VersaColor - canary; VersaMark; Memento Dual Marker - tuxedo black; Caran D’Ache watercolor pencils and oil pastels.
Others: Neenah Desert Storm and white cardstock; MME “Up & Away” Collection 6”x6” paper pad; Lawn Fawn "Hello Sunshine" 6”x6” paper pad; Simple Stories "DIY" 6”x6” paper pad; BasicGrey Alphabet stickers; Ranger Stickles - gold; GA; Uni-Ball Signo white gel pen.
Thank you for stopping by.

I've been at the gym a lot. I prefer the 3rd treadmill in the second row. I've noticed all the regulars have a favorite machine. If mine is taken I don't run.
Basic Grey sketch challenge 5.21.12
I finally killed Periphery. I'm really sad about it, it's my favorite all time BG line. I used the entire collection pack, all that is left is scraps. The chipboard, brad and rub-on are Boxer and there is just a little Indian Summer.
Hello,
I love these new stamps! and was so happy to finally put my old basic Grey to good use. The doll was colored with watercolor pencils. The dotted paper is from Bazzill, the "party" rub-on is from American crafts.
THANK YOU.
I combined Sketch #3 with Basic Grey Boxer papers for a non-traditional holiday card for my teenage nephew.
I stamped the Hero Arts Large Christmas Circle (LL218) in ColorBox Burnt Sienna and embossed with Ranger Polysparkle embossing powder.
On the left side I added sparkle snowflake rub-ons from Me & My Big Ideas for a little accent that still keeps the design masculine. The two accent strips were cut from pieces of the Boxer papers, with the right strip punched with a Martha Stewart Border punch.

Hi there! I just got the Special Edition: A Great Big stamp set and just had to ink one of them up! I thought this cute doll fit the sentiment nicely ... and she has a lovely Sakura flower on her dress! :-)
I used 1/16" pop dots to adhere the scalloped circle with the sentiment. Then, I used 1/8" pop dots to adhere the doll to the card. That way, the doll is popped up the most. I also used an opaque white pen to highlight the center of the Sakura flower and the row of dots on the doll's dress.
Materials used:
* cardstock: white, gray, burnt orange, textured putty
* Basic Grey Offbeat Light Hearted 12" x 12" cardstock
* Clearsnap/Colorbox Cat's Eye pigment ink: Roussillon (rust) and Peacock (blue)
* Derwent watercolour pencil: 64-terra cotta
* EK Success 3D-Dots: 1/16" squares
* EK Success Cutter Bee scissors
* Hero Arts LL229 Special Edition: A Great Big
* Marvy Uchida Clever Lever Giga punch (purple): 3" scalloped circle
* Marvy Uchida Clever Lever Mega punch (pink): 2 1/2" circle
* Odorless mineral spirits (OMS) - Mona Lisa brand (Michael's)
* Plaid All Night Media Pop Dots (1/8" thick)
* Provo Craft Bitty Scrap Pad: Into the Woods (patterned yellow paper)
* Provo Craft Cuttlebug (used with Nesties)
* Prismacolor Premier colored pencils: PC942-yellow ochre and PC928-blush pink
* Ranger Archival Ink (waterproof): jet black
* Ranger Inkssentials Opaque White Pen
* Spellbinders Nestabilities Curved Rectangles and embossing pad

Made with Fruitcake by Basic Grey/Moda and Kona Snow. Backed with Folksy Flannel. Completed December 2011.
When I saw this week's sketch at BasicGrey, I immediately thought of a set of three photos I would use to participate in the challenge... but then changed my mind. I was reminded of this photo taken of my daughter when she was just a few days old that I have been wanting to include in her book, so I decided to change course (and change the sketch a bit to accommodate just a single photo). The bonus was being able to use some BG papers that have been waiting for a good scrapbook layout home for a looong time. This page uses elements from OhBaby! Girl, Fusion, and Life of the Party.
Detail photos and more information are available on my NEW! blog:
