I created this card for Hero Arts June2012B Challenge, Daniel's WSW12 Material Whirl Challenge, and Neysa's WSW12 Birds of a Feather Challenge. I had forgotten that Neysa did not want us to combine her challenge with other challenges... so I am posting it to Neysa's challenge, so others can see it, but it will not count toward Neysa's challenge or RAK. (Sorry, Neysa!)
To create this card, I started with a piece of Sticky-Back Canvas by Claudine Hellmuth for Ranger. I used a blending tool and foam to apply Shabby Shutters Distress Ink all over the surface. Then I stamped a peacock from Hero Arts CL447 Beautiful Peacocks using Ranger Archival Ink in black.
My stamped impression did not work so well on the canvas, so I used a Micron permanent ink pen to trace over the lines that did not stamp well. Then I used washable Crayola markers to color in the peacock. I added Turquoise Stickles glitter glue to the peacock feathers as an accent, and set it aside to dry.
The background is a patterned paper called Teachers Lounge from Basic Grey's Recess collection. I stamped a feather from the same Hero Arts stamp set and the "thinking of you" sentiment from Hero Arts CL140 Thinking of You Messages using Tsukineko VersaMark watermark ink. Then I heat embossed it with Ranger turquoise embossing powder.
Next I die cut and dry embossed a turquoise matte using Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Three in my Cuttlebug. Once the Stickles glitter glue was dry, I peeled the backing from the Sticky-Back Canvas and adhered it to the matte. Then I adhered the focal panel off-center on the card base using foam squares for dimension.

I was inspired to create this card for Daria's (djc's) WSW12 Sparkle and Frost Challenge, for Sarah's (Craft Nerd's) WSW12 Bowl Me Over Challenge, and for Sarah's (Craft Nerd's) WSW12 Combo Queen or King Challenge.
Daria asked us to use the Used Dryer Sheet Technique by Charmaine Ikach at Splitcoast Stampers. I started by stamping Penny Black 4085J Mimi and Friend using Ranger Archival Ink (permanent) in Sepia. Once the ink was dry, I used Prismacolor Premier colored pencils to color in the stamped image. Then I ran the image face down through my Xyron machine to apply adhesive to the stamped side. I adhered a used dryer sheet over top and die cut the panel using Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Large Rectangles. Then I applied Hero Arts PG104 Prisma Glitter over top and rubbed it in, so it would stick wherever the dryer sheet had not. I shook of the excess glitter and set the focal piece aside.
See the close-up for a better idea of how the used dryer sheet and glitter look on the focal piece.
For Sarah's Bowl Me Over Challenge, she asked us to select one ribbon from our stash and use it as inspiration for a new card. This blue butterfly ribbon has glitter in it and it is a large, wide ribbon with large printed butterflies on it. I think it is very pretty, but I have found it very hard to use unless I plan to from the very beginning. Because I knew I wanted to use this ribbon, I pulled colors from it (pale blue and lavender) to use when coloring the Mimi and Friend stamped image. I also thought since the ribbon is glittered, it would be good to combine with Daria's glitter challenge.
Sarah's Combo Challenge asks us to combine two or more WSW12 Challenges in a single project, which I've done here.
The background paper is called Lily Child from Basic Grey's Kioshi line. I trimmed it to be slightly smaller than my plain lavender card base, and then used my Tim Holtz/Tonic Paper Distresser to distress the edges. I wrapped the ribbon (sorry, I don't know the manufacturer) around the patterned paper and adhered it to the card base.
I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Large Scalloped Rectangles to cut a purple matte for the focal image. I adhered the focal image to the matte, and then adhered them both to the card base using foam squares for dimension. Finally, I added a puffy heart sticker to Mimi's dress.
Thanks for looking! :-)

Hi cardmakers, scrapbookers, project lifers… and crafters in general :).
Here I am on a beautiful sunny Sunday sharing the card I made for two important occasions. The first one is from where I took the inspiration, the CFMBC#12 - littlemisst-papercraft.blogspot.com/2014/04/cure-for-mond... - and the second one, but equally important, the birthday of my best friend’s younger daughter. It’s just a simple card with no fancy techniques, but it turned out kind of cute. If you want to play along there is still time, but hurry up.
I stamped the background with these set of borders I absolutely love, removing some ink here and there to achieve an uneven look. Then I stamped the box without the furry cat onto pattern paper with a white cardstock for the inside, I also stamped the base of the owl onto pattern paper. The sentiment is from the Furry Cat stamp set, as well. I cut some simple geometric shapes from white cardstock and pattern paper (the blue one) to make them look like packages and colored using pencils, shading with oil pastels. The small white bag has a tiny stripe of washi tape and the number 1 is a sticker covered with gold Stickles. I cut out the eyeglasses from pattern paper and covered the lenses with GA, added some tiny sequins to finish it off. The kraft card base was stamped in a woodgrain pattern.
Supplies:
Stamps: HA - Designer Woodgrain; SSS - Artful Borders, Furry Cat & Box; CBS - You’re A Hoot II.
Dies: CBS - You’re A Hoot; Spellbinders Shapeabilities - On the edge.
Coloring: VersaFine - onyx black; VersaMagic - sea breeze, key lime, pixie dust; VersaColor - canary; VersaMark; Memento Dual Marker - tuxedo black; Caran D’Ache watercolor pencils and oil pastels.
Others: Neenah Desert Storm and white cardstock; MME “Up & Away” Collection 6”x6” paper pad; Lawn Fawn "Hello Sunshine" 6”x6” paper pad; Simple Stories "DIY" 6”x6” paper pad; BasicGrey Alphabet stickers; Ranger Stickles - gold; GA; Uni-Ball Signo white gel pen.
Thank you for stopping by.
