A59r approaches Lisburn with what is probably the 14.30 Dublin Connolly - Great Victoria Street. The lack of MkII stock and the angle of the sun, suggests either late 1972 or early 1973.
A59r/059 was scrapped in August 1992.

Joe Root had survived several attempts to get him out and by this stage in the game was clearly enjoying himself as the 150 was about to come up. He eventually made 184 that day and 190 altogether before he was dismissed early on day 2 of the match
Not long after leaving the yard in Chama, NM, the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad's rotary plow outfit approaches the Lobato Trestle (MP 339.75) over Wolf Creek. Constructed in 1883, this trestle was built in a time when locomotives were far smaller and lighter than the K-36s that pull most of the tourist trains today. The load limit on this bridge does not allow two K-36s to doublehead across it, so doubleheaders typically stop here, just short of the bridge, and the locomotives will cross separately. The train is reconnected on the far side. For the operation pictured here, which had a pair of K-36s pushing the rotary, it was decided to have Locomotive #487 take Rotary OY and the water car across, while #484 would bring the rest of the train across after them. Rotary OY weighs about 70 tons, which is less than the 90-ton weight of a K-36 and it was apparently determined that these two weights, separated by the water car, were within the limitations of the bridge.
This image was captured on February 29th of 2020 during Day 1 of the 2-day, Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad rotary plow event, which was held in celebration of the line's 50th anniversary as a tourist operation.
Final approach to London City runway 10 in 1999. Quite a breezy day by the look of the choppy water in the Royal Albert Dock. The PAPIs are set for a 5.5 degree approach and note the double lights on the runway just beyond the taxiway which denote the latest touchdown point beyond which a go around must be performed. The airport was much quieter then - without the additional taxiway at the eastern end of the runway fewer movements could be handled. On the ground are two VLM Fokker 50s and 146/Avro RJs of Malmo Aviation and Sabena.

I just found another photo from the first day. This is taken with a cheap little waterproof camera I found at Kmart. A few of the photos came out relatively ok considering!

Romped around Cragmillar (gaelic for ‘high bare rock) in the sun and wind today when very suddenly great blue black, rain heavy clouds billowed in. I had picked up an extraordinary red leaf that felt in it’s redness like an exterior beating heart or a juicy secret. I hid it from the storm.
With her cylinder cocks open and pouring out a nice, dark plume, Flagg Coal Saddletanker #75 approaches the curved Jericho Trestle over the Naugatuck River, as she makes her way back to Thomaston, CT with an afternoon excursion for the Railroad Museum of New England.
For 3 weekends in May of 2011, Flagg Coal #75, owned by the Gramling Locomotive Works of Ashley, IN, was on lease to the Railroad Museum of New England, running round trip special steam excursions from Thomaston, CT to nearby Waterbury. The total length of these trips was about 9 miles, which was well within the range limitations of a little, 0-4-0T industrial locomotive like this. Back in the steam era, engines like this one were typically confined to yard service and never roamed very far from home. While their range is limited, they are ideal for the "engine for hire" operation run by the Gramling Family, because they can easily be transported to tourist railroads and museums on a flat-bed truck, and they can be operated economically, with relatively little infrastructure. A good water source and a small supply of coal is all they require.
Chicago South Shore & South Bend #s 30 & 33 and The Milwaukee Electric Railway & Light #846 approach the former site of Sawyer's Market. They are in Christmas Train service and are on their way to Elegant Farmer in Mukonago.
Day 2/365 - 2/2011 - 1/2/11
Managed to get out in the water before the storm came ashore. Conditions were excellent for some photos and a decent surf session with winds blowing offshore.

For the first time I could admire completely new navigation lights at the head of Runway 24. Perfectly in scene this Wizz A320 on approach.
NR92 9305 NR15 approach Kyogle loop, signal failure meant a slow approach to the loop and assistance from control to pass blanked out signals.
Here in this photograph we have this Arriva Buses Wales Dennis Dart 8.8M Plaxton Pointer 2 registered as V553ECC with the fleet number of 0823 the vehicle is seen here heading down Jeffreys road in the bright midday sunshine while working a service 13 to Wrexham Industrial Estate, this vehicle is approaching the end of its life as being told that it is due to be withdrawn soon and with the vehicles tax expiring on the 31st of January'14 it seems likely, sister vehicle V554ECC (0824) has already been withdrawn from service at Wrexham Depot so im suspecting at the end of the month the vehicle above will also follow its sister.
Both V553ECC (0823) and V554ECC (0824) where new to Arriva Cymru in 2000 with B29F Seating as SMC553/554
Meigetsuin is a temple of the zen sect near Kita-Kamakura Station.
The hydrangeas of the garden of Meigetsuin is very beautiful
and the temple is nicknamed "Ajisai-dera" or Hydrangea Temple.

Having gone to Tees Yard while tour passengers had a break in Middlesbrough, Class 66, 66094 then arrives back at Middlesbrough (with 66198 on the rear), heading the empty stock for the BLS “Lackenby Looper” railtour on 9th July 2022. The tour then continued to Skinningrove and Redcar Ore Terminal before returning back to Doncaster.
We are stopped at the west end of Camp Rodgers with a red signal as a storm swollen Feather River approaches flood stage below. My train is the westbound PROAD (Proviso-Oakland Double Stack) with CNW 8710 & CNW 8564. Dave Stanley photo ©2025

23rd March 2018. Passing through Crowcombe with the 12:07 Norton Fitzwarren to Minehead express is GWR 57XX 0-6-0PT No.7714. The West Somerset Railway was holding its annual Spring Steam Gala which had the theme of Great Western Routes and Branches.
66004 cautiously approaches Onilwyn washery with the 0847 Margam T.C. to Onllwyn Washery working.

The former Grand Trunk Western Distant searchlight stands in the light of the full moon, a sentinel at the west end of Grand Rapids Eastern RR's Ann St. yard, permanently displaying an approach indication for the eastbound through train that will never come. Fuller diamond is about a half mile east of here.
