Regimental agricultural introduced under communism
Hello everybody! I'm back from a fantastic Danube river cruise from Bucharest to Budapest, taking in no fewer than seven Balkan countries!
The temperature was around 37C most days so I am quite exhausted. I am going to be uploading hundreds of shots in the next few weeks - they are for my memories and I really don't expect you to bother to look or comment them. I'm just starting off with a few iPhone shots for the time being - it will be a long time before I get everything off the cameras and the iPhone!
It was pretty nice having no internet connection, and I didn't even have international roaming on my cell phone - the rest of the world seemed to be very far away!

4-JOP no.8003 slowly approaches Wokingham from the Ascot line with the 1120 Waterloo to Reading service.
The class 458s have subsequently been rebuilt into 5 car formations with a redesigned front end, new livery and additional coaches from the now defunct class 460 units (see flic.kr/p/CXnXQ2 For a view of these striking units).
Another Place is a piece of modern sculpture by Antony Gormley. It consists of cast iron sculptures of the artist's own body, facing towards the sea.
After being displayed at several locations in Europe, it has become permanently erected at Crosby Beach in northwestern England. The work was controversial in the local area due to issues such as possible economic gain or environmental damage from tourism. A meeting on 7 March 2007 by Sefton Council accepted proposals that would allow the sculptures to be kept permanently at Crosby Beach in place of being moved to New York (extract from Wikipedia
"Masked" Hop streetcar 01 turns the corner from northbound Milwaukee St to eastbound Kilbourn Ave, approaching the Cathedral Square stop. In the background from left to right are parts of Old St Mary's Church and the City Hall building, and in the distance, the Milwaukee County Courthouse complex.
The Hop operates this section of route off-wire; power is derived from onboard batteries.
I've borrowed this from my mate who worked the opposite shift to me in the Traffic Office at Nottingham (Beeston) Freightliner Terminal.

Elowah is a beautiful waterfall. The long stream of water drops over a cliff covered with brightly color lichens. The trail passes over a wooden bridge just a few dozen meters from the bottom of the waterfall. There are all sorts of possible compositions involving the waterfall, the bridge, and the stream, many which I've seen before and many of which I made this time as well. But as I was leaving, I looked back and saw this view, the view of a person approaching Elowah.

Delicate Arch is a 65-foot-tall (20 m) freestanding natural arch located in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah, USA. It is the most widely recognized landmark in Arches National Park and is depicted on Utah license plates and on a postage stamp commemorating Utah's centennial anniversary of statehood in 1996. Bournemouth, Pier Approach. An area which has changed a lot through the decades. The Observation Wheel has been a feature since 2016, whilst Aruba was designed by Archer Humphryes Architects in the former Showbar at the land end of the pier.

Always had a fantasy to work a street corner for a night. I'm sure it's pretty grim for people who have to do it for a living, but hey, guess I'm just one sick little kitten.
Our first stop on the way to Dutch Harbor was the fishing village of Chignik. Happily we were treated to a pleasant sunny day. Those amazing green Alaskan hillsides never seem to be as vivid on my images as they were in real life....

Shortly after capturing this shot, a torrential downpour occurred that lasted more than two hours. I don't recall ever seeing rain come down that hard for that long. I seriously contemplated shooting again during the storm but ultimately decided against it. Heavy lighting strikes and potentially soaked camera gear aided in my decision.
Snow Geese, on approach - as well as a bunch of Cackling Geese. Yes, there had been a Bald Eagle scare. The two groups looked visually to be mixed when they were in the air but I was probably wrong (they probably didn't think they were all together anyhow) since as you see they are separating out on landing.
Nearing Butlers Lane station, 323207 and 323203 work 2P30 Redditch to Lichfield Trent Valley High Level.
A new greateranglia stadler bi-mode train from Norwich heads into Sheringham station, as that train rolled in a steam train from the NNR approached the hertitage station and my photo buddy Ciro decided he was going to take a few shots of that resulting in us missing the 15.43 departure from Sheringham.
