This charming little plant is a typical alpine flower. Can be found in the Alps, Carpathians, the Tatra Mountains, Pyrenees and Apennines between 1.300 m and 3.000 m altitudes. (Between 4,265 ft and 9.842 ft.)
The plant is used to spend a long time under a snow cover, already then it develops its leaves, so when the snow finally melts, it is ready to bloom.
Interesting: Chamois (a European goat-antelope species at home in the Alps) like to eat the leaves of this plant. So hunters earlier were also eating the leaves, hoping to be as free of vertigo as the chamois of the mountains.

In late August 2017 I visited North Wales where, in Llandudno coach park, I saw Alpine of Llandudno Volvo B9R / Plaxton Panther C53F AP13ALP sporting the new allover red livery for their top end coaches.
Seen at Windsor coach park in August 2010 was this Neoplan N116/3H Cityliner of Alpine Travel, Barking. N1HMC was new in 1996 to Hallmark of Luton.

Beautiful puzzle and good MB quality here. Thick pieces.
This one is for my good friend Travis Van Hoff, who, if you don't know, is the front man for the wonderful up-and-coming pop/rock band, VanLadyLove. Travis made the suggestion that I hike in the Alpine Loop today. This is a small creek above American Fork Canyon, the name of which I don't know. I love the tree, just about to fall, but hanging on, roots exposed.
