A corona around the Sun as seen from the viewing platform just below the Sphinx observatory at the Jungfraujoch in the Bernese Alps, at around 3580m altitude.
A light fog was blowing over the ridge, resulting in a rapidly changing scene, but the diffracting water droplets must have been very uniform in size to yield so many rings in the corona. Perhaps this is related to the altitude and the way that the fog was forming as it rose rapidly over the ridge.
Beyond the inner, very bright aureole with its red edge, three full red-green rings are easily visible, and a fourth red ring can be seen as well. Rather rare, I believe.

I took this a few years ago, but I'll never forget that evening. The mountains looked like they were on Fire. The sun was setting, and the lighting was breathtaking. Even though we had had a long day out in the park, I couldn't resist stopping the bus so everyone could get out and take in the stunning alpine glow that was surrounding us.
Our newest additions to the farm...Apple, Apricot, Alder, Ash, Almond, Acacia, & Aspen. All Registered Alpine dairy goats.
There's nothing alpine about it's location. At one time, a nice place, but it's in the motel row in Inkster, where most guests are not vacationers or businessmen, and short stays preferred. I'm sure you know what I mean. It's a shame that this area can't be revitalized, and the riff-raff run off before these motels are completely trashed. It'd be nice if the "MOTEL" part still had neon. Judging by the buzzing and crackling sounds I was hearing, the "VACANCY" will be the next to burn out.

Lives in chalky grounds, prefers shade and moisture.
In winter a thick snow cover is very important for the plant, as it cannot survive at temperatures under -12°C (10°F).

Soft evening light over an alpine valley, with green meadows in the foreground and mountain layers fading into the distance. I liked the contrast between the warm light on the trees and the cool haze around the peaks.

Alta Mountain is a ridge hike. I love walking along ridges for their breezes, their views and their seemingly precipitous spines. Alta has a nice long ridge you walk along with gorgeous green shoulders full of flowers.

Présentée au Salon de Paris de 19572, celle qui aurait dû s'appeler, dans la logique Alpine, A109 du fait du partage des composants mécaniques de la Dauphine (type R1090 et suivants) est une évolution de l'A106. En effet, si la carrosserie du coach est conservée, le moteur de la 4 CV est remplacé par celui de la Dauphine Gordini.
L'A108 joue un rôle important dans l'histoire d'Alpine car c'est sous cette forme que va naître la berlinette. Au Tour de France automobile de 1960, Jean Rédélé aligne deux berlinettes A108 (le modèle de série prendra d'ailleurs le nom de berlinette « Tour de France » jusqu'en 1969).
La berlinette se présente comme la version fermée du cabriolet, cependant l'avant à phares englobés est nouveau. Produite à partir de l'automne 19601, elle supplanta le coach et prépara la place pour la nouvelle venue : l'A110.
