Gala is a clonally propagated apple with a mild and sweet flavor. Gala apples ranked at number 2 in 2006 on the US Apple Association's list of most popular apples, after Red Delicious and before Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, and Fuji.

As a fully committed and lifelong Samsung Galaxy S (series) cellphone diehard I've no idea what this 'Apple iPay' malarkey is all about..
300/365: So, I had to go to the Apple Store this morning, because my MacBook Pro crashed again and wasn’t booting up at all. This is very likely to the graphics card issue with 2011 15″ MBPs. I’ve had the same issue pretty much exactly one year ago. I got a new logic board back then (for free), but now the problem returned. Luckily, I got a spontaneous appointment at the store in the early afternoon. So they checked it, and now my laptop is in repair with them. I signed up for a “business-membership” for a year, mainly to get priority-repair and a replacement-machine in the meantime. And now I have to deal with a German kezboard layout for at least a week. This is the first of many pictures of food, hopefully, to come. Since most of my experience in photography has been in urban environments and natural landscapes, I was joking one day that I should just sit down and take pictures of food. When I realized that wasn't such a bad idea, I decided to make a project out of it.
I liked this angle on the apple because it almost makes look like a cherry to me and the yellow spots seem to pop with the nice red skin.
Taken for Active Assignment Weekly - Like a Painting
My two submissions this week are very similar, so I hope you can tell me which you prefer. All I could think of when I was considering making a photo look like a painting was a still life of fruit, sorry if it's not very original.
WIT: Set up the fruit on a cutting board, lit with a single halogen and a homemade snoot out of construction paper.
In CS4 did some cloning and used a texture provided by ghostbones (Thank you very much!)

Made one of our favorites yesterday, and thought I'd share the recipe:
2 c. flour (I use whole wheat pastry flour)
1/4 c. sugar
1 Tb baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg
1/4 c vegetable oil
1/4 c molasses
1/2 c milk
1 apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
Preheat oven to 375˚. Lightly grease 10 muffin pan cups (or 8 for bigger muffins).
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt and set aside.
In a separate bowl, beat egg, then add oil, molasses and milk.
Dump dry ingredients into wet ingredients and mix until blended. Add apple.
Fill muffin cups with batter, and bake 15-17 minutes. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a cooling rack.
A delicious and beautiful organic apple filled with lots of love.
