Day 133 of 365.
“Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
I am haunted by waters.”
― Norman Maclean, A River Runs Through It and Other Stories
One Fall Stroke
Our lives are like rivers---we flow and course over time and terrain. There are floods and there are droughts.
And, sometimes, our river runs into blockages that slow us down. Like a tree on the riverbank toppling over and damming part of our progress.
Nearly two months ago, my mother suffered a minor stroke. After spending a month in the hospital, she's home now.
For the most part, she is doing well. But just like a river that encounters a fallen tree, the stroke has made my mom and dad carve a new path around this blockage in their lives.
I'm grateful for my mom's continued recovery. I'm grateful for my father's energy and dedication. I'm grateful for the number of friends and family that have provided a support network much larger than we could have imagined.
Most of all, I'm grateful for my parents whose love still flows strongly.

Day 338 of 365.
Ruby dyed her hair teal. It’s “hombre”-style which means the color gradually changes. But I don’t really know much about hair styling.

I liked both versions a lot, and I'm partial to this version myself, but I figured since it's Christmas lights, I should show off the colors. Which version do you guys prefer?
damn autofocus resetting! I should have taken some more shots but I was worried about a car possibly running over my camera. Please ignore me falling out of my clothes.
a good morning to start the day.
laughing planet for dinner,
then a reading down the street
and running into old friends, unexpectedly.

This is for you my dear, my little princess. You can be as strong as you want to be. You can do it, you can show us you're stronger than your fears. We'll do it, i'll be here for you whenever you need a helping hand. Let's walk together and live with passion.
Your best trophy will be your courage, your faith and your hopes... I love you.
I wasn't sure about the 365 project, but there are 2 ladies i love that need my support, my daughter and my mom... I'll be here for them and i'll have a special picture for both of them every day. Mom, you'll do it. Isa you will too.
Can't believe I missed yesterday. A bit disappointed in myself. Will post an extra tomorrow to make up for it.

The wall is a barrier between the I-5 freeway and a residential area (which is on the camera side). I thought it was interesting the tree was stuck behind the wall.
11.04.11 I couldn't ask for a better trip or better co-workers. I'm so happy to be surrounded by such amazing, happy, and inspiring people.
