The nice part about having big flower beds with several varieties of plants is that there's always something new blooming - sometimes weekly. Today, our stargazer lilies started blooming. They are always spectacular and smell amazing! There are at least 5 more buds that will bloom over the next week. And, don't you think the balloon plants are the perfect backdrop? :)
The last sunset of 2014 and a fitting start to my hopefully successful #365project

280/365: Aerialists Know
Aerialists know
Doubt is the heavy thing.
They know doubt is the stone, the flaw
Named accident. The figure
Whose body flows
Over the rings of darkness
Is the perfect believer.
He makes it look easy,
Leaping from swing to swing,
Shining—a white tendril
In the garden of blue air—
And safer than men on earth trudging,
Fervent but irresolute,
Their doubt always a dark itch,
Over fields and roads.

I owned a car for 7 years that wore this badge. I got to know every square inch of that car. I even memorized the VIN #. I never knew until today that this Dodge badge has a name. It’s a Fratzog.
Not a good day for sales. I did pick up these items for $2.00.
Sold the platter & Barbie mug via eBay
I have decided to really work on my outside small strobe work so I will be using myself for a few of these so you may want to have the children look away... 4 tips to hide a few extra pounds 1) Wear black 2) angle to the camera, 3) Chin up 4) Weight on the back foot .... helps a little. Hope all is well 292
Strobist - SB26 in 60" umbrella camera left really low power. building lights to my back left and right for rim light. Had to go BW because I left my gel kit in the other car so there were some color issues. You know, when I do this I drive around looking for these great locations and then end up shooting in the back of a bowling alley and had to avoid the trash bins... more about the light than the location (I have to keep reminding myself)
Is there any dinner more refreshing in the summer than a burger and salad? We didn't have buns, so we improvised with toasted bread. The hamburger patties were from our meat CSA (Grass is Greener Meats and Produce). We topped it with cheese and grilled onions (yum!), and I made garlic mayonnaise. One of these days, I need to make my own mayonnaise from scratch, but for today, I just minced up a couple of small cloves of garlic and mixed them with commercial mayonnaise along with some black pepper. Delicious!!!
Fall table decor.
Gourds from our veggie CSA and a stunning Jepson pottery bowl. As mentioned in an earlier 365 Project pic, Barry Jepson has sadly retired. This is one of the last pieces that I bought of his.
Spotted under the mailbox today. In general, I'm not a huge fan of spiders, but I love pretty webs like this one.
It's a very busy day today. I haven't got a chance to do a shot before going to bed. I quickly grabbed my camera and searched any object that I could take a photo. I tried to do cup shot but it didn't work. I gave it up and then I found the box with beautiful golden Chinese words. quick snap... done :)
