328/365 - This gem Paul was spinning some cd's at the "club". Haha what crazy music selection he had...
It's reached that point of the new year where you need to finally pack up the stuff of last year and mentally remind yourself that you are finally in a new year; mostly because last year's stuff is collecting dust. bleck.
Brrr, it's cold! We've bundled up the kids and ourselves and hit the slopes. C & S both had a great day at ski lessons, and even rode the chair lift and went down the beginner hill three times!
N & I also got a chance to ski some, and by the day's end, we were all exhausted. The kids hopped into the hot tub with the other kids and loved being in the hot tub amidst the cold snow outside.
Got a donation today of old craft supplies from a teacher (I think, I wasn't too clear on this part) and we found an old 48 pack of Crayola crayons. Some crayons weren't even used, like the orchid and brick red. ^^ Makes me want to find my old box of crayons. My tech and I were joking about how there isn't even a crayon sharpener in the back like how the new ones have.
March 4th: the birthday of Ms. Carla Marie Moller, mexican woman and a knucklehead of mine from small times. She has shown great sack so far in exposing me to the wonders of Portland, there is sushi here that you eat FROM A TRAIN
New couch (floor model = savings! again!). We sold our old one last week, finally. It had been falling apart since day one. We picked up this beauty for less than what we sold our old couch for.
I'm not a big fan of spending money, but since we're hosing Christmas this year, we really needed to buy a couch. Now only if we had a dining room table...

I was looking for a Tylenol Cold to suppress the cold that I have. While looking into the container I noticed that someone had mixed up the day and night versions of the medicine. The daytime medicine is yellow while the nighttime is blue. I liked how they contrasted each other. I wondered how I could show this best and came to immediately thought of a shot glass. I think the lighting would have worked better had I used a softbox, however, I think the photo works.
Statues, Plymouth.
These are on the pedestrian walkways under North Cross Roundabout, part of a traffic-free walking route in a straight line from Plymouth Railway Station down through the City Centre along Armada Way, and on to The Hoe.
The statues are part of a national series celebrating local heroes, and each figure has a connection with Plymouth:
- Marine Ben McBean (left) grew up in Plymouth. After losing an arm and a leg in Afghanistan, he went on to run the London Marathon.
- Robert Falcon Scott (Scott of the Antarctic, middle) was born in Plymouth. He led two expeditions to the South Pole; he reached the Pole on his second attempt in 1912 bet he along with four companions died on the way back.
- Charles Darwin (right) stayed in Plymouth in 1831 before setting off on a round-the-world expedition. The five-year voyage inspired his reserach and led to his Theory of Evolution, which transformed the way the natural world was perceived.
