I am surprised its taken me this long to post this image on here as its one of my favourites of 2021. I had been messing arouns with exposure times without much sucess until I found the sweet spot that allowed me to show the movement of the water without it losing too much definition. Add in the bonus of the wave moving in at the top of the image and i was really happy with the lines and the sense of movement and drama that the scene managed to convey and I managed to capture.
The location was North Somerset, near Porlock and there were loads of these along the beach but this one seemed to appeal to me more than the others which were in a far worse state of decay and didn't have the little drop off on the right side that this one did.
I have finally finished my marathon work stint of 30 out of 32 days and I am really looking forward to next week off and some time to recharge my batteries (both personal and camera ones!) and head off for a few days to photograph a new location to me. I still have not fully settled on a place to go yet but my mind is telling me to head over to the South Wales coastline and some of my old haunts growing up. Would love to see how different they look today to how they were when I was a child and also to look at them for the first time as a landscape photographer. Anywho I am sure you will see the results on here when i get back!
