I did some minor railfanning south of Winchester, VA on Wednesday June 23, 2021. I was in town running a couple errands when I saw CSX D788 roll by the station on Kent and Piccadilly Streets. The evening rush hour was just beginning and I wasn't able to catch up to it until it had dropped off a few lumber cars at Stephen's City and watch it go by at the crossing. Traffic let up enough I was able to get ahead of it further south and here caught it just north of Middletown, VA.
The location is where on October 19, 1864 that the surprise attack of 14,000 Confederate troops that had driven 32,000 Federal forces in the Battle of Cedar Creek halted. The Union Army later regrouped a couple miles to the north to mount a counteroffensive that would clear the field and the Shenandoah Valley of any considerable rebel force for the rest of the Civil War.
Mykonos is a Greek island, part of the Cyclades, lying between Tinos, Syros, Paros and Naxos. The island has an area of 85.5 square kilometres (33.0 sq mi). There are 10,134 inhabitants according to the 2011 census, most of whom live in the largest town, Mykonos, which lies on the west coast. The town is also known as Chora (i.e. the Town in Greek, following the common practice in Greece when the name of the island itself is the same as the name of the principal town).
Mykonos's nickname is "The Island of the Winds" due to the very strong winds that usually blow on the island.

Stichting 2454 Crew heeft in 2021 de mc9002, beter bekend als "Jaap" overgenomen van de Werkgroep mc9002 Jaap. Na groot onderhoud is de trein weer rijvaardig en daarmee een van de oudste nog rijdende elektrische treinen van Nederland, daterend uit 1924! De oude dame komt hier langs de Joppelaan in Kethel onderweg naar Schiedam Centrum tijdens een rondje Hoorn-Schiedam-Amsterdam-Hoorn.
Se cuenta por ahí que cada flor tiene una historia o una leyenda asociada y me he dedicado a buscar algunas de ellas.
Algunas tienen que ver con la mitología, con los dioses, creencias populares, países, etc.
Todas muy interesantes, dignas de leerse para que cada vez que tengas una al alcance de tus manos te recuerdes cual es su origen o que historia se cuenta de ellas.
Een kwartiertje na de autotrein passeerde nog een tweede rode loc mijn lens, zowaar een rode 66 van Crossrail. Op lijn 16 passeren die meestal met tegenlicht of 's nachts dus was ik extra tevreden met deze mooie trein die als 44572 onderweg was van Wustermark Rbf naar Antwerpen Noord. Deze plek had ik al enkele dagen in gedachten omwille van de 3 velden in verschillende kleuren: onderaan een groen grasveld, rechts een bruin omgeploegd veld en aan de andere kant van het spoor een gelig veld met verdroogde maïsstaken. Precies dat veelvoud aan kleuren in het landschap vind ik zo mooi aan deze tijd van het jaar. Straks staat hier immers enkel nog maïs... Foto gemaakt met hoogstatief.
