And here's my 365 from the 23rd. It's not very good. I warned you...

I was tagged, so here we go, ten more facts about me:

1. If I'm nervous, anxious, or afraid, knowing what time it is makes me feel better.

2. Sometimes when people ask me if I've heard of something famous, like a person or a TV show, I'll lie and say yes, I've heard of that.

3. Stop-motion movies fascinate me. I love them. I want to make one of own one day, but I don't have the time or the creativity.

4. I used to be really active, but I'm become quite lazy. Consequently, I've gained a lot of weight recently.

5. Before I call someone, even a good friend, I plan out what I'm going to say.

6. Sometimes I get in these moods where all I want to do is lie on my bed, stare at the ceiling, and think about life, death, God, etc.

7. I've self-diagnosed myself with tinnitus. It sucks.

8. I'm currently listening to: I Belong to You (New Moon Remix) - Muse

9. I save a lot of stuff. All my school newspapers, programs, ticket stubs, random bits of string, Christmas and birthday cards - you name it, I've saved it for the memories it holds.

10. Only 1 more day of school left, 6 exams left, and then SUMMERTIIIIIME! :D

I tagged some more people. Sorry for being annoying ;)

The Developmental Disabilities Institute in New York has been working hard. In their 10th anniversary year they have worked hard to show their support for our campaign to improve the health of people with learning disabilities.

They have also bee working with a learning disability nurse to discuss help and develop a better understanding within their community of the little things that make your choices healthier.

Found out more about our campaign HERE

~my own story person ;)

I was tagged by Leaca & Cory to tell ten things about myself, try not to get too excited...

1- I can’t stand dirty or long fingernails on men, it creeps me out.

2- I get obsessive when looking for something misplaced, sometimes rechecking the same spot I checked earlier as if miraculously it would appear there now (mildly OCD? or is that the definition of insanity?)

3- I have no idea how to text message, don’t care. I only just recently found out I can put a memory chip in my phone, so I did, what’s it for?

4- Addicted to Coconut Cream Coffeemate creamer, must have in my morning coffee, I find myself getting annoyed if my store is out when I’m there to get it. What's up with that?

5- I am a survivor, I think it's in my genes.

6- Photography has been my "hobby" since I was 14. After I graduated from college I worked as a retail sales manager in a camera/photo lab for a large retailer in our state.

7- My favorite junk food is Cheetos puffs, chips and salsa are a close second; chocolate of course has its own food group!

8- Hopefully my friends see me as a loyal trustworthy friend, I think I am.

9- I was the photo editor of my high school yearbook my senior year, woo hoo

10- When I was young my mom made me take organ lessons (I wonder if she thought that might be useful for…church organist??) Later I convinced her to let me take electric guitar lessons (and that’s come in real handy, how?)

*oops, forgot to say if you're tagged and want to play, tell 10 things and tag 10 friends :)

10 things you didn't need to know about me! :)

10 i'm a vegetarian, thanks to peter singer and grant morrison's run on "animal man"

9 i have a fear of heights, but i have jumped out of a perfectly good airplane

8 i have three degrees - two undergrad and one postgrad

7 and i am now studying classical history at university ... for fun!

6 i was raised a catholic but i'm a big-a atheist these days

5 after a childhood incident, i have a fear of spiders *shudder*

4 i have a "top-five" of celebrity man crushes that i would "jump the fence" for

3 i was doing what you'd call cosplaying before i even knew what it was

2 i studied forensic psychology before finally deciding i didn't want to live in a city that required my services ... :)

1 i'm a great planner, but a not-so-great do-er

i tag whomever wants to be tagged! have at you!! :)

Awhile back, gurana tagged me when he did his 10 Things. Since then I’ve been meaning to participate, but this pesky thing called life kept getting ahead of me. For some reason, if I have a theme, I am able to focus more on these types of games. Since I am completely OCD about my new toy, thought it’d be fun to do a 10 Things I’ve Done w/ My iPhone Over the Last Week theme:

1) 1st app I downloaded was KEXP’s iPhone app.

2) 1st album purchased was Massive Attack’s Splitting the Atom EP. I said I’d buy it back in late August/early September last year when I first learned Massive Attack was putting out new music.

3) Found this really awesome wallpaper app. It’s called i.Wallpaper (the one w/ the dot). They have crazy cool computer art in their Abstract section. I love the one on my phone.

4) I played chess for the 1st time in over 10 years. Downloaded Shredder Lite. It cracks me up when it heckles you.

5) iTunes v. Amazon MP3: Though pricing is almost always exact, when there is a difference, Amazon is cheaper…especially w/ indie artists.

6) Not only am I reacquainting myself w/ my music, but also found a good number of comic book apps. Favorite so far is Comics (the one w/ the blue X). It isn’t super strong on indie publishers, but has plenty to give me a good idea of what is out there, & (more importantly) what doesn’t suck.

7) Found this really awesome Green Lantern Trailer on YouTube. Too bad it is a fan made trailer, it would have made an Epic movie.

8) As of this writing, I have 52 Albums, 4.83 GBs of music. 5 of which were purchased (mostly EPs).& 7 of my imported CDs do not have cover art ‘cuz iTunes can’t locate them.

9) 7 years ago, my oldest son (then 2) took an interest in my CDs. Since then I’ve had many empty case surprises. One I missed the most was Joseph Arthur’s Big City Secrets. It was the 2nd album I purchased. And let me tell you, it felt great to listen to it after all these years.

10) My favorite app (so far) is RedLaser. This app is so cool. It utilizes your camera to scan UPC barcodes, and then does a price comparison w/ online retailers. Which was one of the points in getting the iPhone: to go online and verify that what I’m about to buy isn’t total crap. Probably going to need to up our data plan w/ this one.

That’s my 10 Things I’ve Done w/ My iPhone Over the Last Week . I will be adding the 10 to tag shortly.

I realized yesterday I never uploaded any of the images from a class exercise called "rocket ship". And I still have dozens of other images from that class that might make it here eventually too. :-)

The premise was you are leaving alone in a rocket ship for the rest of your life and you can take only 10 photographs with you to remind you of ... whatever. I took the class at MIT and you'd be amazed how many of those smart students photographed a full laid out deck of cards so they could play solitaire. :-))))

Obviously, not being able to enjoy and observe children and all the promise they hold for the world would be hard. This one was gathering the rose petals a florist had strewn in a path toward his door. I forgot to mention that we had to take all these shots within 24 hours, and I never came upon any children smiling at me. :-)

Una bellissima serata...makes me happy! ^_^

I am not exactly a silly person by image other than the occasional wearing something inside out in public. However, I do the silliest things sometimes....not on purpose but silly just the same.

1. I hate flying but live in Bush Alaska where you have to fly EVERYWHERE you go. (I also believe you should do something that scares you everyday

2. I can't say wolves. I always say "wulves". Every time I do something "silly" one of the guys I work with says nothing but "wulves" and everyone laughs.

3. I would party with my friends in high school but have not touched alcohol after the age of 21. (except for the time in Mexico when my "virgin" drink turned out to contain alcohol)

4. I love spicy food to the point my face feels like it is melting off.

5. I snort when I laugh too hard.

6. I cry when I am mad, sad, too happy, grateful, or overjoyed.

7. My dad is my hero. When I was first married and things would break in our house I would call my dad. One day my husband sat me down and explained that I could not call my dad every time something broke. I was shocked. Who else was I to call? He finally explained that I was supposed to call him, my husband.

8. I coordinate all kinds of gatherings but sit in a corner away from the crowd. I am not an introvert but I am not very social sometimes.

9. I eat meat but would never kill anything. I do not like knowing about all that stuff but I married a hunter. I deal with it.

10. For my senior sneak in high school we went to Disneyland for grad night. I fell asleep on the bus on the way back to the hotel. I awoke the next morning on the bus and cops were surrounding the bus. Turns out everyone went to their rooms and did not realize I was still on the bus. In the morning someone crashed into the back of the bus right where I was sleeping and I never woke. To make matters worse we were told not to talk to strangers and I could not figure a way out of the bus. Finally I got the courage to ask a stranger to go get my friend to help me off the bus. Turns out there was an easy way off the bus....it unlocks from the inside.

9/18/07 Day 45/365

:10 things: September

#1: My drive down Beach Drive to work every day.

I drive by this stretch of Bay every day on the way to and from work down Beach Drive. It takes up a large portion of my journey to work....that passing by the bay... all the way down that road... by far one of my favorite parts of my day. I love it. I see the tide roll in ... the tide roll out.... the sun comming up on the sea oats.... the sun setting on the mud flats.... the herons and gulls and sandpipers wading and eating by the edges every day.... it's nice to see ...... every day.... definitely.

Panama City, Florida

Last time I was here I was pregnant with Zak. On this beach (just off to the left) is where I first felt him kick.

I can remember Jeff saying "let's walk to the crater.... It's JUST right there!" I thought I was going to die. I was desparately searching for a cab back. There was none by the way.

:10 Things: Getting a 'redo' in life and being able to accomplish what you wanted to do the First Time!!!

Five years later I ran around that beast! It was pretty cool!

I was tagged by Jim and had nothing better to do at the time, so... (but forgot to put it public)

1. I'm definitely not a business-oriented person. I have a hard time asking for what others consider to be a fair price when I tutor, correct papers on the side, photo stuff, etc.

2. Definitely lovin' the home cooking I get here, but I am definitely craving American food too. When I have my own kitchen here I am going to be breaking out the recipes and hoping that something familiar-tasting results. Looking forward to making (or at least attempting) lots of brownies, burgers, tacos, guacamole, mac & cheese, cornbread, pancakes, BLTs (ok, that won't be too hard :P) ...

3. Looking forward to October. I start working then. That means I won't be as bored and will have health insurance (yay!).

4. I have a sudden craving for falafel. Or a brownie. Either would do.

5. When watching a movie at home, I can rarely just sit and watch the movie. I usually am doing something else - net surfing, editing photos, planning...

6. Lately I've been feeling quite cold most of the time. I'm always shivering.

7. I'm going to get my driver's license here (Austria). So much more is required to get a license... and it costs lots of money (around $1700).

8. I'm also going to be taking a dance course with a bunch of people. That will be embarrassing.

9. I get embarrassed way too easily.

10. Consistently unthoughtful people piss me off.

10 things:

Handheld afocally at the 10mm eyepiece through a Meade f/4.5 reflector: effectively 100X. During the lunar eclipse last month I brought the telescope to Armour Hill to promote the Peterborough Astronomical Association to the public. One of the comments a young woman expressed—aside from the amazement—was that Saturn looked just like all the television cartoons portrayed it to be, rings and all. She was amazed because when I pointed the planet out to her with the naked eye one cannot see its rings. And so, she felt wonder and awe. And I was happy. :)

Tra l'altro, il 17, è un numero che mi piace tanto! :D

I was tagged a few days ago by Brittany and a long time ago by a few other people, so here you go.

Basically I put 10 pictures up that I've never put on Flickr but that I like. if I tag you feel free to do the same! :)

oh and if you think i should upload any of these, umm tell me. =D

kristin tagged me ages ago for a 10 things post. finally got around to taking some SPs, so here you go. =)

*********

1. my skin is looking seriously rough these days. don't let this picnik retouching fool you.

2. if it weren't for the weather, i think i would jump ship and leave nyc to go live in portland or seattle.

3. a lot of you know this already, but i have rheumatoid arthritis. don't let the "arthritis" part fool you. it's a crazy, tiring, painful, annoying, tiring chronic autoimmune disease and i take some pretty hard core medications to help control it and keep it from deforming my joints and wrecking my organs. (the meds are supposed to help with the fatigue, too, but some days i have my doubts about that.)

4. the aforementioned crappy disease has, however, prompted me to make lemons out of lemonade.

5. when i was a kid, i created an entire imaginary world. i had a folder with maps i had drawn of the town, lists of names of the main characters in my world, notes back & forth between said characters (written in different handwriting, of course), photos cut from magazines like seventeen (back when cameron diaz was one of their main models!) . . . the list goes on. in my head, i was going to make a big yearbook with all of the photos and such, but i never got around to it. i hope that folder is still floating around in a box somewhere at my parent's house.

6. i'm a sagittarius. and man, oh man, do i have the wanderlust to prove it.

7. my desk at home is a disaster area. it's one of things to work on this year from the list.

8. i am terrified that henry is going to develop some awful disease like molly did. i am so scared of losing him. i think it is what is keeping me from working as hard as i can to train him and to give him 100% of my love. i hate to admit that, but i think it's true.

9. my first ever concert was pearl jam at soldier field in chicago in 1995. it was completely awesome. (until after the show, when my car broke down on lake shore drive. my friends and i had to get towed back to indiana (2 hours away). four of us crammed into the tow truck cab, along with the driver, was just a little much, so my one friend went back to the car and laid down. totally illegal, but we did it.)

10. i didn't have a full head of hair until i was two. my mom always dressed me in dresses so people wouldn't assume i was a boy.

Samson has been tagged and asked to tell 10 things about himself.

1. I am very handsome as you can see, but also sweet and ultra-friendly. I've never met a stranger and am not the least bit shy!

2. I was found with my three sisters when we were all just wee kittens in a box that somebody left in a park. Luckily some children found me and their mother took me to work at UH and someone there took care of all of us. That is where my human companion first met me and helped feed me with a bottle.

3. The vet says I am half-Abyssinian.

4. I'm quite athletic and like to leap to high places.

5. My best friend is little Dusty.

6. My girlfriend is Sylvie. Yes, sorry, I'm taken!

7. My arch-enemy is that mean hissy Zoey. She bites me on the neck and drags me around squealing! I run away fast when I see her coming.

8. When I sit in my human's lap and get petted, I purr a lot and I also drool a lot, sometimes leaving a big puddle behind. Embarrassing, I know, but I just can't help it, it makes me that happy.

9. I am very handsome. Oh, I guess I said that already. Well, it's worth repeating. However I am not always totally dignified.

10. I love to sit on the porch and bake in my flowerpot!

marvin joins the scene quite cautiously.

I've been tagged by the lovely and talented Sarah www.flickr.com/photos/sarah_badg/ to write ten things about myself. Um ...

1. I'm taking a year off work in 2 weeks time to look after Paul, who's now 5 months old.

2. A lot of people on Flickr say photography is their life, but to me it's just a bit of a hobby.

3. My favourite cooking smell is frying mushrooms with garlic.

4. When I was a child, I used to chew string.

5. I've spent the last five and a half years getting an honours degree. As usual, too late ...

6. I've never read a Harry Potter book, and I'm proud of it. I love Dickens though.

7. There are no 'real' self-portraits of me on Flickr because I look rubbish.

8. I value loyalty in others as much as I value it in myself.

9. If I could have a puppet character as a friend, it would either be Rupert Bear or Joe 90.

10. I'm an atheist, thank God.

10 things: holiday on ice!

it has been very cold since christmas and so some waters in or around munich are frozen. we went to "nymphenburger park" to go skating. yay!

(but why do my feet hurt so terribly in skates? I can't remember hurting feet from my childhood...)

my cat. he's toothless, he sometimes behaves in weird ways, he's always hungry.

but he's still the cutest thing and (if you eventually give him food) a loyal fellow. i enjoy staying at home and working, with the little bugger on my lap, purring, scratching, biting and crotch-warming. sitting on the couch together with the little furry friend is always a time of peace, quietness and relaxation (until he wakes up ;).

(song "ode to the sun" by dredg)

:10 things:

1. This was my first time being tagged for anything like this on Flickr! Thanks, sewberrycute! :)

2. I just got bangs/fringe cut for the first time since high school. I swore I would never have bangs again, but this is one of my favorite haircuts I've ever had.

3. I get bored with my hair often. It's never had the same cut twice, it's been a multitude of colors and I've donated approx. 26" of hair to Locks of Love in the past three years.

4. The Great Gatsby is my favorite book. Someday, I want to host huge Gatsby-esque parties for the sole purpose of people watching rather than socializing.

5. I have my BA in Liberal Studes with a focus on History and Latin American Studies. I don't think I will ever really use my degree. I went to college in the oldest city in the US (St. Augustine) and I was mesmerized by the history of the town.

6. I love to receive packages in the mail. This has resulted in a craft swap addiction.

7. I have two cats named after actors from The OC- MISCHA (Barton) and (Adam) BRODY. I was a huge fan when I was in college.

8. I love wearing dresses and skirts and would wear them everyday, except that I hate shaving my legs!

9. I daydream way too much and have a vivid imagination. I often get disappointed when I realize that things are not reality, but in my fantasy world.

10. I used to compulsively read "I Saw You's" and "Missed Connections" thinking that I would find one about me.

On June 28th seven of StingRadio's DJ's met with MP Andrew Smith to ask him challenging questions about key issues that affect them. During the interview we asked Andrew Smith whether he would support our 10 Things Campaign to improve the health of the learning disabled community. He offered his full support. Find out more about the campaign HERE

The highlights of the interview will be featured on the July 9th StingRadio show which you'll be able to listen to from 2pm HERE

It's the end of the work week, and it's the one night that I don't have to worry about getting up early the next morning and making sure everyone has what they need for school or work. No clothes to lay out. No lunches to pack.

And to celebrate, I treat myself to wine and chocolate.

Mariana and Eugênia came here yesterday for a sleepover. We watched "10 Things I Hate About You" - I've wanted to watch it again since I found out Heath Ledger had died (in case you're wondering, yes, it was a little weird, but I guess we're weird like that.).

One day, shortly after we moved to our house, I arrived home from work and let Daisy out. This is the first thing at I do everyday. The next thing I do is get the mail. After Daisy finishes taking care of business, she always comes over to meet me at the mailbox at the end of our driveway. On this particular day, two of the neighborhood girls were taking a walk up the street. When they saw Daisy, they asked if they could pet her, as little girls are apt to do.

After they had finished patting Daisy on the head, they continued on their walk. As they turned away from us, I heard the younger girl exclaim to the older girl, "That dog has eyebrows!"

Who could blame her for being excited? Afterall, it's not everyday that you meet a dog with eyebrows.

I was tagged by that big woman helle-belle. She wants to know more about me, 10 things, to be exact. Anyhow, I'm not sure if my Moms approve this tagging and telling thing, but I don't approve what they are doing either, especially all their recent stalking after our new neighbour.

So after a long consultation with my lawyer, I've made my list. Here we go:

1. I wish I had a brother or a sister. Considering, however, from what I know about life, this is not likely to happen when two Moms and no Dad are involved.

2. Hence, I wonder all the time how my humble self came into existance.

3. When I'm grown up, I'll marry Elisa-Bettina and Nils will be our best man. We have everything arranged already, the wedding will be three weeks after the return from our Apollo mission (we have to allow for the quarantine period).

4. As a physicist and future astronaut, I'm a big fan of Albert Einstein. Especially of his hairdo. I can't wait until my own hair starts growing down the sides of my head.

5. When I'm counting to ten in school, I always skip the number 5. It drives my teacher mad.

6. sometimes I skip the 6, too

7. and the 7

8. After all, I'm just a first grader. What do you expect??

9. My favorite SciFi TV series is Star Trek: Voyager. Among all VOY characters, I think the Holodoc is the coolest, followed closely by Seven of Nine.

100. I'm a bit of a cyborg myself. I have a lot of magnetic wires in my wings that help me to hold subjects. The process of assimilation was painful, but in the end it turned out to be really convenient. I can do lot of things that other chicks can't do.

My Mommies have been assimilated, too. Resistance was futile.

So I got tagged by www.flickr.com/people/jeahfree/

So here are 10 things about me you probably don't know.

1. I'm terrified of grasshoppers.

2. I've never in my life been able to decide which food is my favorite.

3. I love music, pretty much any type also.

4. I love skateboarding, allthough I don't ride as much as I used to.

5. I suck at Spanish.

6. My favorite movie Into the Wild.

7. My favorite color is green.

8. I love Jameson Whisky on the rocks.

9. I do not like long walks at the beach.

10. I have a very short attention span, which makes me rather useless at stuff that doesn't interest me.

My friend Katie allowed me to practice my off-camera flash and portrait photography on her. We wanted to get two types of photos; one a head shot and one that told a story.

This one is Katie's kitchen...Katie has a funny look on her face and I just love it. I asked her to threaten me with her stirring spoon...when things go wrong in Katies Kitchen...watch out! I think this would work ok for a magazine spread - editor might flip the entire photo so that the text and title are on the right hand side?

a walk along the beach with the one you love

Max and Mia have become emotionally attached; the typical 'boy and his dog' love story. When we take her, it is always a dog friendly destination. I think she throws a fit when we leave home without her because she thinks those are the only places we go. She has never been to school, work, or shopping. Dogs never hate and always happy to see you. Humans can learn a lot from dogs. Pets are one of my ten things.

10 Things:

From the orchard of our new place.

Yesterday, Dave and I visited Hot Dougs, for some delightful hot-dogs. I, of course, went with the Chicago-style vegetarian dog, and it was so good! YUM!

The focus of this is not what I wanted it to be, however, I like it.

And I was tagged, a while ago actually, by Miss Angela Mary Butler so I suppose it's about time I got around to doing this. If I list you as a person in this photo it means you're now tagged.

1. My life is currently changing drastically.

2. I have 7 tattoos and I'm pretty sure I'm not done getting them.

3. I work at Snip It's, a children's hair salon, as a receptionist / a party coordinator.

4. I love the Harry Potter movies.

5. I've been finding it hard to remember that I take photos for myself, not to make explore, not to get comments, views or be reblogged.

6. I have a lot of anxiety, it's hard to deal with sometimes, I also struggle with depression.

7. I was voted most pessimistic out of my entire senior class.

8. The next cameras I want are a t1i and a ae-1…both Canons obviously.

9. I am afraid that I won't graduate highschool this year like I'm supposed to because I've been sick so much and missed so many days…but I'm hoping for the best.

10. I desperately want to be thin, but I'm currently too lazy to do something about it.
