a brisk walk from the road across the Campo Imperatore will get you to the spot called "Vado di Corno". All of a sudden you feel up close to the Corno Grande, the highest peak on the Italian Peninsula (2,912 m above sea level).

10 things most of you probably didn't know about me:
!. I have been an IT geek most of my working career.
2. Kim is NOT my first name.
3. My first digital camera was giving to me by a great friend who was in Saudia Arabia at the time and wanted me to run away with him
4. I am a published author/poet.
5. The first time I met Ken, I was speaking at a MENSA convention!
6. I love to fly with my cousin who has been a private plane owner and instructor for years.
7. I own 3 pianos, 2 of which are in our bedroom.
8. I was allowed into the Russian Space Control center in Mosow called the Tsup as a payload specialist and was voted "most likely to go home dead" from that episode . . . ! :)
9. The dolphin icon I use here on Flickr is the design for the only tatoo I have.
10. I have a phobia of snakes- not just live, real, dead, stuffed- even snakes on TV, photos of snakes, real OR cartoon, and sometimes even a piece of string or rope that might imitate a snake! NOT a joke- I can't do it!!

1. If i could only tell someone 10 things about me and they would never be able to know anything else, i have know idea what i would say.
2. I have a sort of contest/game/thing going on this summer. I am determined to take a picture to take a picture like The Notebook one where Noah picked up Allie.
3. I love candid pictures. like the one up there ^^ of Katie.
4. I love to read books, all different kinds. But my favorite kind of book is a book where someone dies or someone is heart broken. i know thats extremely weird but happy books don't let me escape my life thats why i would rather read something sad.
5.I act like i'm not at all scared of scary movies. (most the time i'm not) But once in a while i'll sleep with my door open after watching a scary movie because i'm scared somethings in my room.
6. I'm scared of sleep, i'm scared of it and i hate it. I feel like i'm going to miss something or something bad is going to happen and i wont even know because i'm not awake. i'm also scared that i will die in my sleep. (I would rather be killed then die in my sleep) So i push myself to stay awake until i just cant keep my eyes open anymore.
7. I hate people for stupid reasons. They can just do something i don't like once, and i hate them. I should really stop doing that.
8. I think when i'm older and able to do more things that i will be an adrenalin junkie, i just love doing things that are exciting and scary.
9. I don't want to grow up any faster then i have to but i cant wait until i can drive so i can find amazing places to take picture. places not everyone knows about.
10. I'm a cheerleader but i hate cheerleading. Its not graceful at all, and it makes me miss the grace of gymnastics.

these are the first shots from my nine day trip to british columbia and seattle, washington. expect a bunch more from this trip, but you'll have to be patient because I'm being slow in editing and uploading these days.

#3: umbrellas -- I love umbrellas, in fact I have 134 pictures faved of umbrellas. I hardly ever get to use on here in Florida (damn global warming). This wonderful shop in Vancouver had a plethora of beautiful umbrellas for sale.
in response to Tiff's 10 things and a triple dog dare on the stream...i must oblige. I was going to wait for my #10 to do this as did Kristin, but why put off today what you can do sitting down with your foot up.
1) I have an endless supply of rose colored glasses, or so I choose to believe. Life is not always picture perfect and there are nights when the glasses are shattered, shards in my eyes and tears not seen by the camera, Every day I wake and there is a new pair on my bedside table waiting for me to say the magic words out loud. "Today is going to be a good day"
2) I am a people watcher, hello...you are too...glad you stopped by.
3) When I was a child I was diagnosed with a kidney disease that should have left me in renal failure by time I was 20. No one told me that though, interesting isn't it?
4) I know there is more than 5 senses, I am up to 7
5) I have always been a thrill seeker, you are learning that already. I like the adrenaline rush of being on the bow of the boat as it slices through the water at top speeds...wind so fast you can't even catch a breath. Flying down a mountain on skis at top speed...my favorite experience was going to Jackson Hole and being dropped off at the top to find my way down.... how about biking to exhaustion up that last hill just to get the goosebumps down the other side...loud almost tribal beat music is what i gravitate too...pounding drums and bass that i can feel in my heart as i adopt the new rhythm and call it my own.
6) There are signs in nature if you look close enough. I know what mine are and they know me....gosh i wish i could explain better with words...ugh! just trust me...there is a quantum physics....or whatever you want to call it. I have made it work for me and against me.
7) orchids,pasta,dark,morning,summer,blue,hugs (those never change)
8) I never work on my birthday
9) having a picture of an art piece in a publication was more of an accomplishment than 5 years pharmacy school and nearly 20 years as a pharmacist. There may be a "RPh" after my name...but art is my life....who I am to the core.
10) part 2 of #9...as far as art...i am random...i go where the muse takes me...right now it is photography...not to be confused with photos.

:10 Things: April #6 My Krispy Kreme mug
For Thursday Coffee with the SLoWDbOS gals... my very favoritest favorite mug in the whole wide world.
When I was a young girl, my dad would take my brother and me to Krispy Kreme on Saturday mornings. He sat at the main counter with other daddy-friends and smoked cigarettes and drank coffee. My brother and I got to pick 1 donut each, and enjoy it at the opposite counter, with a paper pint of chocolate milk. This mug makes me think of those days and the smell inside the Krispy Kreme closest to where I lived. Sugar, coffee, cigarette smoke and the smell of my father.

10 Things:
For the Friday Food Fiesta {ORANGE (FLAVOR)} pool. Orange peel flavouring in the cream cheese frosting and orange peel and juice added to the cake batter itself.
The nice thing about having carrot cake as my favourite type of cake is that in our family that allows the birthday person to choose their cake, it's my choice for my birthday cake. Also, because we bake it in a Bundt pan it lasts a few days. :)

I pulled out the Nikkor 85mm f/2 AIS lens this weekend for an astrophotography workout. This is one sweet lens. I figured it should try it's hand at a terrestial object occasionally. :)
We had pineapple for dinner. It was so interesting looking I just had to photograph it... Used one SB-600 off camera, to the left of the pineapple.

And I was really careful and ambitious about choosing which ones to tag, you REALLY SHOULD check their streams out!
So here goes 10 things about me ---
1) It annoys me when people do not answer on flickr mails and do not respond on comments. Like, seriously, is there a person or just a lens?
2) When I look at your photostream, I will check the first, the second and then the last page. This is really interesting, to see where you have begun.
3) I love 80's music, maybe that's why I so try to make my photos as old-school as possible.
4) Usually when I'm making these kind of lists, it makes me think about myself a lot and I in the end come up with waaay more than just 10 things.
5) I sing along as loud as I can if the music is loud and if I love the song. (Well who doesn't?)
6) Kwak beer is the best beer you can buy in the Netherlands (ok, but it's Belgian beer, whatever).
7) When I like something I usually get totally obsessed with that. Usually for few days, though.
8) When I have an idea I better use it right away, otherwise.. yeah, you may have a clue what happens.
9) I love to receive letters. You know, handwriting. Electronic are ok as well, I usually am very happy, kind of exciting to open- you never know what's in there. Handwritten letters, that is something so so so special nowadays. I love paper and handwriting. This is so under appreciated. ('cmon, guys!)
10) I will tolerate with everyone, except the intolerant.

I was standing on the A25 side of Avezzano looking across the Fucino plain. So the mountain is probably Pietrascritta, but don't quote me on that!
I like ambling around. I don't walk for the exercise or for any practical benefit. I don't do it in search of photographs. Sometimes I'll tote a camera with me, but usually I don't bother. There's just something deeply appealing about taking a chunk of time out of the day and doing nothing in particular with it.

Here are my 10 things.
1# I wish I had longer eyelashes and straighter teeth. If I had money I would get a brace.
2# My dream is to be self sufficient. We have just bought 2 pigs and we’re planning chickens next. I’ve started a veg patch in the back garden.
3# I used to be a Special Police Constable and I loved it. I left when I moved to Norfolk and I would love to do it again. One of my ambitions is to drive a police car, I left just before I was due to take my driving course :*(
4# I love American Crime and Supernatural dramas my favourites are CSI, CSI Miami, CSI New York, Bones, Mentalist (I have a crush on Simon Baker), Fringe, Medium, Supernatural and Ghost Whisperer.
5# I collect My Little Ponies. Lots of them lol. I have a whole room decorated with clouds that houses my collection (and other 80’s toys). My poor husband has to sit in there to use his computer lol. I decked it out with MLP curtains, lightshade, switchplate, rug, clock, notice board and bean bag. 3 bookcases display the collection. I’ll take pictures one day.
6# I smile A LOT! I think this is why I look younger than I am. I’m 30 and I got asked for ID in the pub yesterday.
7# I love being silly. I do little dances, sing little songs, make silly faces and do silly voices all for the benefit of my hubby Rob. I am like a precocious show child in front of a camera lol.
8# I love having hobbies. Apart from Blythe and My Little Pony, I do Flamenco dancing, Historical Re-enactment and I just joined an Amateur Dramatics society.
9# I am at a crossroads in my life career wise. I trained as a costume maker and have worked in Theatre for 10 years. I am considering MA Textiles to get some of my own creativity out, I feel I have just been a manufacturer of other people’s designs.
10# I love a drink now and again, then again, and again and again. Cider Mmmm. My favourite brands and Aspalls, Bulmers, Magners and Strongbow. Usually Aspalls as it’s local to East Anglia.
