Sonic Youth - 100%
I can never forget you - the way you rock the girls
They move a world and love you - a blast in the underworld
I stick a knife in my head - thinking 'bout your eyes
But now that you been shot dead - I've got a new surprise
I been waitin' for you just to say
He's off to check his mind
But all I know is you got no money
But that's got nothing to do with a good time
Can you forgive the boy who - shot you in the head
Or should you get a gun and - go and get revenge?
A 100% of my love - up to you true star
It's hard to believe you took off - I always thought you'd go far
But I've been around the world a million times
And all you men are slime
It's goin' to my head, goodbye I am dead
Wastewood rockers is time for cryin', hey!

Living near a park meant that I was really keen to get a 100 strangers portrait making the most of the autumn colours. In addition I have recently been trying to adopt a more thoughtful approach in my use of colours (some successful and some not so).
In any case, I had been reading a series on composition by the street photographer Eric Kim and specifically wanted to use colour wheel theory in line with the Autumn hues.
Although there were a number of colours I could use, purple/mauve was the holy grail. Now all I had to do was find my purple clothed (or purple haired) stranger. Easier said than done. Greenwich park is a very popular park with lots of tourist visiting. However, after 3 trips and 5 hours of waiting, that perfect stranger was proving elusive. By now I was getting nervous that all the leaves would disappear from the trees.
On my 4th trip I hit gold (or purple :-) ). The location I had in my mind was no longer useable as the leaves had gone but there were still other spots I could use.
Vanessa was on her way to Royal Navel museum with her mum and as soon as I saw her scarf and hat combo I knew that she was the one.
Thankfully she agreed to a shot and I took took her to the spot I had in mind. I shot a few with and without the reflector and am generally pleased with how this came out.
Vanessa lives nearby and had only moved there recently with her partner. Her partner was interested in photography and was looking for a course and I recommended a few options. When I asked her mum's name she said "Vanessa's mum"
Thank you Vanessa's mum and Vanessa for being a part of my project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the

You can tell from the photo that this gentleman looked too interesting to not ask to make his portrait. I had seen him from the inside of the restaurant; I came back to ask to make his portrait. He saw me walking up, took off his headphones, shook my hand. I introduced myself through shaking hands, and asked if I could make his portrait. He asked why, and I said he just looked really cool.
Of course, he wanted to give me a hard time (which was well worth it and in good fun!). He wanted to know something that he didn't know about me, and I said I spoke two languages. He asked where I was from and I said Puerto Rico. Reggie then said sure, and put the headphones back on. I asked him if he could look into my camera, and he said I was pushing it now. But he did, and said I only had one shot. This was my one shot and it seemed like he liked it. I know I did, and I feel so good to be starting this project!
Thanks Reggie!

It’s getting easier asking people if I can take their picture for this project ,suppose that’s the point : ) Walking back from the beach I saw a sleeping baby and proud father asked if I could take a picture (quietly of course ) he smiled and nodded. I took the picture saw that two ladies were also doing the same .I asked one off them could I take her pic and found out they were from Japan so I said konnichiha .The 1st picture she pulled a silly face and laughed, I pulled an even funnier one then she took off her sunglasses and took this one .Join us at

Day 100 - So I jumped on the Fitbit bandwagon at the weekend. This is my new Charge 2 which I really, really like - a nice upgrade from my Garmin Vivofit.
Just noticed an abundance of yellow on my stream recently! Must be spring.
Today was the 100th day of my Project 365! woo! I had a wonderful/random 100th day of the year/Good Friday! Some wonderful worship time this evening. I loved it. =]

Yesterday, 28th of April, 2012, there has been a great demonstration in Rome (and a concurrent one in London) called "Salvaiciclisti" (Save the Cyclists). We were there with our bikes to make Rome a city worthy to be called a European capital. Every year thousands of people are killed because there aren't enough bicycle lanes in this and in many other cities of the world. During the demonstration, I saw a group of guys with wonderful t-shirts saying "28 April 2012 - Critical Ass - Save the Cyclists"! I stopped one of them asking the meaning of the t-shirt and where I could find it. She said me: "The meaning is easy! The ass is critical because it's very painful after being hours in the saddle! And the t-shirts are not sold, he made them ..." - and introduced me Yari.
Yari is a very nice guy, he found one last t-shirt in his backpack that perfectly fit me and he gave it to me for free! We agreed that I would have rewarded him with a participation in my One Hundred Strangers' project. Moreover he build fantastic fixed gear bikes on his own so we spent 10 minutes chatting about handlebars, frames, gears and wheels. Funny enough that, despite of his eccentric look, Yari is a financial consultant used to be dressed every day with jacket and tie (more or less like me ...)
So, thanks a lot Yari for participating in my project! It's been great to meet you and your friends!

I was intrigued by the wonderful character of this man as I was walking through downtown Seattle. You could hear him yell from a block away, "SHOE SHINE..." as he hustled for customers. I wasn't having very good success asking strangers to take their portraits, but I was very lucky to stumble upon him. He was very nice gentleman and said, "go ahead, take all the pictures you want."
"It goes to show that unless you ask, you'll never know."

100 Strangers : 11/100
Back to work after a long leave of absence, I took a walk in the touristy part of Québec. I was shocked how easy it is to take pics on people when everybody is a tourist and assume you don't even speak the same language. Itsao was locking her bike to a fence and was in a hurry. Being the only person around not in a tour group, I asked her to pose for my strangers project. She said yes with lot a joy even though she seemed on the shy side. The first frame came out a little blurry but it's still the best one: spontaneous and not posed at all, unlike the following frames.

Dying for just another moment
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are

100 Years by Five For Fighting
Here is picture 2 for week 6, A Child's View, of Project Awesome.
I remember when this song came out i was 8 years old. I had no clue what the lyrics meant, but i loved the song anyway. Here I am now, 15-years-old, and i only have a slight idea of the meaning of the song. But that's the beauty of youth. You have the imagination to wonder and love the world despite your lack of experience. To me, children are the ultimate philosophers because they know how to truly appreciate the world for what it is.
I guess this picture represents the topic because adults become so black and white with age. They forget to see the color in the world. They forget to open their eyes and and admire the little things. Now don't get me wrong, there are exceptions, but in general the little things are forgotten. They're only noticed when a child wanders off the beaten path and notices it's true beauty.
